I see him listed on this site at 5'10'' 175 and am wondering from those who know him how big can he get? Love this kid as a recruit and the versatility and explosiveness he brings with the ball in his hands and wondering if he has the frame to get up to 185-190 relatively early in his career.

When you think of this kid, think of a faster, more explosive Dallas Crawford. He will get to 185-190 easily. But he is 5'9. Hope we keeps him at RB. He is the goods.

Is it a fair assessment to expect a dexter mccluster? Or maybe that one rb name escapes me at Oregon?

I think Brandon Powell can get to that LeMichael James type speed as he develops in college.

He's fast as **** right now.

From his highlights I think he can add a little more to his frame than DeAnthony Thomas. Probably more in the mold of Lesean McCoy or Ray Rice. Doubt he can be as stocky as Rice though.

Nowhere near the build that Rice has but Shady aint that far off. He is bigger than Thomas but nowhere as fast or explosive, which is okay, cause none really are. He doesn't really have the build to be an every down RB, but he can still give you some carries plus his versatility will allow him to line up in the slot. Kid looks like he is gonna be a good one though.

if you scroll through this thread quickly its just a bunch of different names of running backs.

Have to see what he looks like after a year in a D1 Strength and Conditioning program but right now, I think he is a bit of a tweener. He isn't a speed guy and certainly isn't a bigger, punishing back. I think he has great vision, great feet, and decent straight line speed.

I think he needs to focus on his burst and getting in and out of cuts.

To be clear, I think he has speed. He just needs to work on acceleration. I think he can build it.

To be honest, if Al and Co. manage to flip Sony or Cook, wouldn't surprise me to see Powell come in as a CB initially. I think he could be very effective there.

why do ppl automatically assume Dalvin Cook would beat out Brandon Powell at RB?

Dalvin Cook would make a better DB prospect then Powell imo....

Miami needs more size, speed, and explosion on the defense, and it would be smart for his Pro career for Dalvin to play corner. he did say he wouldnt mind playing it before.

Devin Hester was a DB at Miami (shouldve been used on offense 2 though), Dalvin could be one, and we put him on STs and certain packages on offense.

Lamichel James or DeAnthony Thomas? Not sure which you mean? Thomas is the one playing for them now.

I don't pretend to be a evaluation guru looking at just his profile with height weight and saying his ability as a playmaker I was making a comparison . But Thomas was the one I was talking about

I like him at corner, but I see a safety with stupid, unreal range.
