UM fans are weirdos. That's what's wrong. Alabama signs three 5 star RBs every year, yet if we even think of doing it we gotta switch them all to some other position (even though we are woefully inadequate at RB right now). UM fans love two things: 1. switching players' positions; 2. talking about redshirting players.
And Derrick Henry is probably going to end up being wasted at the position.
Not even looking at positional depth, Cook has incredible potential as a defensive back (as well as RB, obviously), and not considering that potential at a position other than RB would be a foolish thing to do. And when you consider we have Duke/Dallas/Gus on the roster and Yearby/Powell committed, if we were to add a Cook to the class, given our depth at safety and his potential on that side of the ball, considering him playing there is hardly something overly farfetched.
If we sign Yearby and Powell this year, and then one of the top 2 backs in Florida next year, all of a sudden we're really good at the position. So what harm exactly would there be in having an elite athlete on the defensive side of the ball at a position that seems much more thin atm?
