I really need to watch the game again, but I remember him looking poor with his footwork/mechanics when he was under center. Someone pointed out that he never took a snap under center in high school so maybe this is the reason?

Late in the game when he in shotgun, he looked much more comfortable. Although that last drive was meaningless, I saw what everyone was excited about. He was getting the ball out quick and extremely accurate with it.

Either way I'm not worried about the kid, I saw some glimpses of why people are excited about him.

No idea if that's true, but I remember Brock Berlin being SO much better out of the gun

We should be running the spread like Texas A&M anyway with our athletes. I don't ever want to see a 2 TE set again unless we're on the goal line.

We're in a 2 TE set with a fullback and we have Waters and Dorsett on the sideline. Where's the sense in that?

Also, spreading the field like we did on that last drive would simplify things for Kayaa.

**** all of you Herm Edwards lackeys who think that you play to win the game. **** all of you who think that we should adjust our personnel to better suit their strengths. If it aint in the binder, it's suspect. I knew this would be a 15 year rebuild. You guys need to be patient. Golden for life!

Unless/until we change coaches, we should not be in the spread. The reason is that our spread is not a spread option. We dont involve our qb in the running game. When you go shotgun you lose good play action. It tips your hand toward the pass and puts a lot of strain on your qb. Our greatest success was play action out of conventional sets because the defense had to respect run and it gave our qb some time. We cant put the type of pressure on Kaaya that Coley's spread sets create due to their transparency. Teams like tamu are different bc they are coached by offensive gurus that know how to teach qbs and not by Coley. They are not relevant to us.

OKKKK... Ill watch the game over... even tho I stopped watching after the 3rd...

he was in shotgun or pistol more than under center. His footwork was not great but I think it was more of him being nervous. We heard all camp about his cool calm demeanor and his ability to go through his progressions. He showed very little of that during the game. He was not used to getting hit and it showed.
