I haven’t seen a ton of updates from practices so I was curious as to if we have had more than a handful so far? Don’t we get an extra 15 for a bowl? Seems like I have a read about 5 or so. I remember last year Richt said he wasn’t going to use all of the slotted practices because he wanted our team to recover and get more time in the Weight room. Was that the plan this year also?

I’ve been wondering the same thing, but I’m comforted in the knowledge that our crack beat reporters at the local newspapers are on top of it and will soon fill us in. I mean they would have to, right? Because pretty much every other team in the country would get this kind of coverage.

I thought I saw where they started practicing on the 17th or something like that. There was a discussion that Wisconsin had started prior to that but it got pointed out you only get the 15 practices no matter when you use them.

Could be wrong though..probably not...lol

15 practices are a myth. You can practice more than that.

Wisconsin started practicing before Miami.

I think they are going to have 4 more practices than Miami.

Miami is having 7 full practices and 2 walk through practices for a total of 9 bowl practices.

and your source for this most accurate of postings ??

The team just reported back to Miami last night and checked into the Hotel last night. They were given a break over this past weekend to go home and spend time with their families. They are practicing this week at the Dolphins facility.

Why are we practicing at the Dolphins' facility? Would it not be more productive to practice on campus? Is practicing off campus a NCAA rule or does Richt practice off campus to give the team a bowl travel experience?

I'm anxiously awaiting SMD's tweets about the amenities and dining options at The Diplomat. Should follow an in-depth piece about the team in some joint volunteer afternoon with Wisky at the Hollywood Boys & Girls Club. Hopefully she can squeeze in some questions about the punting game if we're lucky.

Susan: Don’t see CanesFootball Freshman QB Cade Weldon here at Orangebowl practice. See Malik, N’Kosi, Evan and Augie here at Nova Southeastern.

Think about it. It’ll come to you.

The team is not on campus. They are at a hotel somewhere in the vicinity of the stadium. They get the same perks as any other bowl team.

Conditioning will be an issue. This could end up like the 95 OB against Nebraska.

I think in the 95 OB game they were just deeper and better than us. I don’t think it was conditioning. There are just so many snap your starters can play.

I was at that game. I got 2 words for you. Frank.....Costa

I have another two words for you: "Bull**** penalty that took a TD from us on our first drive" (even the announcers said WTF?) and "a dozen late hits and holds they didnt call on Nebraska"

Poor recruiting by Erickson. An OL like a sieve. And Pat Riley didn't play.

We were a bit thin on defense; without Riley, Sapp had to handle more of the load. But he and the rest of the defense got tired and that's all she wrote.
