BOT rumblings

While fully capable of multitasking, this seems like the most realistic scenario presented. Barging into Rick's office and demanding he overhaul the program would do nothing more than force them to pay another buyout, which is money they'd rather spend elsewhere.

If he has a disastrous 2019 campaign and they lose more than 5,000 season ticket holders this year (2018), then they will fire him next year. He coaches during 2019 for sure.

Disagree completely.

I heard the exact opposite. "We paid a top-10 coach to run this business and we invested as much as we can. We trust him. Our priority is the law school, not some children's game that has received two buildings in the past 5 years." I was told that they will not concern themselves with this for at least 2 years. We have new facilities, an IPF and the Adidas contract. "What more do they want?"

Miami the city is now #7 in VC money. I was told that tech is their #2 priority after the law school. They are also trying to markedly improve their engineering offering and using 'aeronautical' as the launch pad. I am in the analytics industry and spoke to some donors about degrees in the field. None had watched a game this year...

I would be willing to bet hard money that zero changes are made. They seem to care very little about it, frankly.

This is the correct answer. I’ve met a couple of BoT members over the years, neither were even casual fans. The money is tied up in Richt’s contract and the IFP. He’s our coach and what he does is his business. If you don’t like it, spend your money and time elsewhere.

Also, I see a lot of talk about “we should lose no more than 1 or 2 games a year.” Why? That hasn’t happened since 00-04. We’ve won 1 Coastal title and have won 2 minor bowl games since that season. Seems to me, we are a 7-8 win program till proven otherwise.

Unless some big alum or Cane super fanatic with boat loads of money and tight lips shows up, it is what it is.

Nick B is "Trustee A" in Miami article just posted.

He doesn't have significant pull wrt to overall BOT, but he can be an effective agitator.

And I understand the Soffer's aren't pleased either.

Richt's not getting fired going into 2019, but Nick B trying to fire shots across bow re: Jon Richt, IPF, and comparisons to Golden and D'No.

I spoke to source very close to the admistration and he said Brad Johnson will be our new OC/Qb coach while Jon moves to coach the Oline. Brad's wife will head up the hydration team in conjunction with Kathryn Richt.

David Richt will lead the band for your entertainment purpose while providing his expertise as an offensive analyst. Anya Richt, will contribute in cutting edge and ground breaking ways as long snapper specialist who concentrates on wet ball analysis. It will make those special teams failures of snapping the ball in rain, like we saw against Duke, a thing of the past.

Blake is working on the paperwork and extension for Mark as we speak.

the only BOT "rumblings" is from one of em eating some romaine lettuce that the CDC said had E Coli and to stay away from.

This situation will fix itself. We were ranked #2 last season with a worse QB & OL than we currently have starting, the toast of CFB, and Richt was COY. The Panic button has been pushed and held firmly by the feeble-minded members of the base, but there will be self-correction.
