While fully capable of multitasking, this seems like the most realistic scenario presented. Barging into Rick's office and demanding he overhaul the program would do nothing more than force them to pay another buyout, which is money they'd rather spend elsewhere.
If he has a disastrous 2019 campaign and they lose more than 5,000 season ticket holders this year (2018), then they will fire him next year. He coaches during 2019 for sure.
