Booker T. Washington - Bishop Gorman (LV)

The just went to NJ two weeks ago and beat a very good team.
Gorman got destroyed by a 3a school in Texas a few years ago, this should be a total bloodbath.

Maybe they've improved a ton, I just remember there was a lot of hype about them and I couldn't believe that a 3A school from Texas (Gilmer - kinda like Texas' version of Glades Central or Pahokee) was playing them at the time, then Gilmer proceeded to drop 60 on 'em. But... that's been 5 or 6 years, I think. Could be totally different deal I guess.

Can't wait to see how good Booker is!

BG produced Joey Gallo - the Rangers' future Dave Kingman, I got love.

If you'll allow me to segway into a more macro discussion...

I think the new concept that ESPN is pushing (for national competition among elite high schools) will favor skools like Bishop Gorman. They are a power program in a state with very few other power programs. Bishop Gorman's football program has essentially outgrown Nevada high school football. They need to keep playing a more national schedule. The same can be said for Chapperelle of Phoenix. That is why they now have a recurring home and home with each other (Chapperelle and Bishop Gorman). The more involvement ESPN has, the more this new channel of footbal will be exploited,,,,,,eerrrr, I mean developed. :)

It was Mountain Pointe, they're ranked in the teens nationally right now and they're big and fast. Gorman's offense was awful that game, especially Cunningham, they're much improved since then though.

This won't be a game for long....might be worse than the Georgia romp to start the season. They might put 60 on em.

That was back in 2006 under a different coach. The worst they've lost under Coach Sanchez is 28-14 to De La Salle of Concord, CA. And they were up 14-7 at half. Gorman lost to Armwood (Seffner) FL in 2011 by a score of 17-20, and Armwood was one of the best teams in the country and Florida that year. Although they had all their wins vacated that year due to ineligible players on the team.

poor call on 4th and 2. Shotgun dive? Booker T's coaches must not have much respect for Bishop Gorman.

As I recall, Bishop Gorman was in that De La Salle game til the very end. I remember there being a questionable call that went DLS's way that put them up by 2 scores late.

They've pretty much done whatever they wanted this year minus the Central game. I think they're kinda at the point where they feel unstoppable. Hope the game stays competitive like this, props to BG for their backbone early.

totally agree. My biggest concern for BTW coming in was the complacency thing. After beating Norcross the way they did then handling Central would make any team feel complacent.

Also agreed on the competitiveness. Im hoping its close thru the half, at least.
