I think that JB's comments like Nick S's are actually their frustration with the fact that pre NIL their schools had people willing to break rules and laws to pay players and had become very effective in that system. Now other schools can openly acquire funded players and the advantages held by the older system schools is gone. Much like when the Kings were replaced by elected governments, the Kings hated the new system.
