Bobby Bowden throwing up the U with coach Stroud

I can't wait to send this picture to all of my die hard Seminole family members. When the most famous Nole of all time throws up the U, it is clear that the FSU program has officially become ****!
As soon as I saw this, I immediately thought @reg will have a field day with this! LOL

As much disdain as I've always had for the semenholes, I always had respect for Bowden because he never ran from us.

Saw him filling up his car ar Circle K store a couple weeks ago.Asked him how his golf game was doing. He said"Buddy it aint what it used to be" Good man and seemed sharp.
I met coach Bowden in 1998 at a Circle K off of Appalachee Pkwy as he was putting Peanuts into an RC Cola (seriously) I had a UM Hat on...and he stood there 10mins talking with me. Nice isnt the word...Great Convo...and was, and still is close friends with Coach Shnellenberger....they both came out of the Bear Bryant camp back in the day...This was not long after they beat us in 98...but I remember him telling me that he could see things starting to get better for UM...and he was correct...Very Classy Guy...

Legend has it, Bowden visits a new Circle K each day, his hand on the pump, but his mind adrift on each wide right.

Wasn't at the pumps...Just putting Peanuts into an RC Cola....I kidded him about it, and he said...Well ya know, its a Southern thing...Lol
I also went to his Grandson Madden Bowden's Memorial in FWB at Choctawhatchee HS in the 2000s...(passed in a car accident if I remember correctly) I think it was Terry Bowdens Son...

I did that the other day. Learned it from a family of Carpenters from North Carolina who came down to Florida in the early '60's. Except in their case it was always Pepsi, not RC.

And I got a warm greetings and nice handshake from JoePa the night before the '87 Fiesta Bowl. He actually showed up at the Miami team hotel. Little did I know the terrible secrets he was hiding.

Back in the day, in Tallahassee, when I was 22 years old, I became the chief caterer for a company called "Manna", which was the catering wing of a restaurant called "The Warf." Bobby was very close with the owners of the restaurant/catering company. He would literally cater from us at least once a week for his team and/or family.

I am sure the CIS fam is going to kill me for what I am about to disclose, but he actually became a semi friend of the family. He informed his assistant to specifically request Manna/me (Reg) to cater his gatherings. At the time, it was only me, the wife, and my oldest daughter. One random night, he gave me a $5,000 tip for a simple gathering at his home, that truthfully only warranted a $200 tip. He said to "take $1,000 and buy your wife something special; take $3,990 and put it towards a college fund for your child." (at the time I only had 1 child) The best part, he said, "with the remaining $10, go get you something to eat, you look hungry, buddy."

I hate the Noles as much as anyone, but I will always have love for Bobby!

Not at Paterno's level, but Bowden wasn't exactly a beacon of morality when it came to sexual assault Himself:

It was Christmastime, 1993, when former Florida State football player Michael Gibson raped her.

He broke into her apartment, shot her twice, leaving two gaping holes in her chest. Then, as she lay there bleeding and crying, he continued with the sexual assault. And then he left her for dead.

Except before he left the scene, this deranged monster of a man took one final liberty:

Michael Gibson stole the Christmas presents on his way out.

"How low can you get?" says John Witherspoon, the husband of the young woman who was raped that day. "How could Bobby Bowden ever write a letter in that man's behalf, to try and help that man someday get out of prison?"
