Ugh! This is circular. So you believe hiring a DC is not necessary. It’s uncommon for an inexperienced HC to also own DC responsibilities, but maybe Diaz is so extraordinarily talented that you’re right, he can do it all. Color me skeptical. If a DC does emerge, or if Diaz face-plants in 2021 with this approach, we can revive this thread and see who “has no sense”.

That is not what I said.

I do think that hire an elite DC would be good but if we can’t I’d rather have Manny calling the plays than have a Blake Baker 2.0

Btw, we were talking about accountability and my point is that the HC is ALWAYS responsible for his assistants and, more importantly, for the team results.

You asked who will be responsible for the defense between the HC and two off field employees. This question has no sense.
