He sounds depressed and emotional. Obviously, he’s emotional because he’s retiring, but he seems like he might not be thinking straight. He should 100% retire based on that video, but I really hope he’s talking to a professional and Miami is supporting him.

I'm sure they are. **** UM supports all the kids leaving early and let them come back whenever to get their degree on the schools dime

Good player. Bit of a tweener, but would have helped us with 4 years of eligibility left. Health has to come first.

Hope he sticks around the team and the University and gets his degree.

I liked him as a football player and he seems like a good young man. Hope he recovers. A lot of therapies and techniques can get you back to - at least close to - normal these days.
Definitely seemed like a good kid. Feel bad for his family too as I remember them seeming like solid people that were super excited about him coming here. Better he make this decision now though than too late. Here's to the kid succeeding in his next endeavor.

Absolutely heartbreaking, feel awful for the kid. One thing I’ll say is it takes a real man to have the bravery to acknowledge their best interests and step away from something they love. If any of y’all follow Bliss on social media it wouldn’t hurt to let him know he has the support of Canes nation behind him always. Thankful he called it quits before something awful happened on the field or later down the road because of accumulating more head injuries, God forbid

Does it feel like we have more players than other programs medically retire? Coincidence or something weird going on? I think it deserves a question
No I don't think so. It's a high-impact, contact sport, where players getting bigger/faster still seems to continue to evolve. It's why they came in with the targeting rule. I bet every team has a couple of guys right on the cusp. I played with two in high school and NAIA teams. Our safety in HS got recruited by FSU, played a season, and their doctors made him stop because of concussions he had four that season. I had five total in college, knocked out once. That was way before protocols; if you could see the 2-fingers you were good to go. The one I was knocked out on, for about ten seconds (The guard next to me told me), I never left the game - that could have ended badly.
