Bleak Visions ***- Arisen From the Dead

-The NCAA has allowed the sport to become dominated by a handful of big money teams.

-The ACC is a corrupt, incompetent conference, whose product, especially in college football, I dislike.

-Miami, at a time where college football was at a point of transition, made a few lazy, terrible coaching hires. Now the legacy of success that once could be built off is almost a negative. Any failure will be highlighted by pundits and a national sports media that likes to use the school as a punching bag.

-The sport of college football is now controlled to a rediculous degree by ESPN, whose attempts at 'sportstainment' contains manufactured narratives but yet no investigative journalism. In other words, the status quo will remain.

I see no reason to watch college football anymore.

Or you could go with "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"

You nailed it.
Stole my thunder if everything goes south.
I was going to and the last lines of the song and add it to my post.

Funny too, the "banners" line in the song.

Right now, as I said, I pray we won't get fooled again.

But we didn’t win. And I think that’s the point.

We can’t beat UNC while coming off of a loss.

In the old days when we lost, it was unloaded in our next opponent. Felt bad for whoever caught us coming off of a loss. That player led culture is gone.
It's not the old days. We've been 'down' for about 15 years.

I’m tired of everyone including myself saying we are more talented then these teams. Point blank we are not. Like I said on a post after the Florida game when posters were saying we will run the table, I said can we beat UNC first. We aren’t the same Miami, Manny is right this is TNM. This Miami has good players, not great players. We can’t compete the Bama’s, Clemson’s, Georgia’s. ****, we can’t even win the Coastal. This team needs time and we have to accept that. Years of inept recruiting on the OL and at QB have set us back years. We have mediocre coaches and I just hope we can beat FSU for some bragging rights because other than that, it’s going to be a long season.

so it Miami would have won these last 2 games, this post wouldn't of existed, right, makes a ton of sense
Uh but we didn’t ****head. That’s like saying if he didn’t die from cancer we wouldn’t be at the funeral....

The light blinked for me last night too. We are a middle of the road team that will occasionally win 10 games but on average an 8-4 or 9-3 team. We will be a mainstay in no name bowls winning against teams like SDSU, Tulane, and Akron. Watching the top 10 teams in college football we are not even close on any level whether it be coaching, talent, or passion for the game.

But there’s no team in the country better than UM in convincing people they are better with hashtags and media hype. With our history it’s hard to accept the notion that this is where we are as a program. We are now SMU, once great team now dwelling in mediocrity, praying one day we can get back to the glory days but not understanding times have changed.

I find myself accepting that our AD and BOT’s are extremely incompetent and in over its head running this program. We have an AD who didn’t even interview a single other candidate after CMR retired. On top of our incompetence, college football has changed and it’s difficult for us to compete in the bag era when we hire lazy and cheap.

Deep down, I do think Miami will always have a chance to be elite because we live in a market filled with HS talent. Perhaps, we get lucky again with a coach that can capitalize on that talent and turn us into a monster again.......some day.

We’re better off living outside of a market with HS talent. That way we can just do what the elite teams do: come down here and shop for their needs and be on their way.

Our gift is also our curse.

Joining the ACC has been a curse. That guaranteed money has made the admin comfortable. The Brass has neutered this program
It also doesn't help that the ACC has no interest in Miami rising again.

They do everything in their power to keep us 'good' enough so their ol' boys can get a signature win. They don't want the old Miami back.

Guess we could be worse, we could have slick willie Taggert as a HC. FSWho fought hard to get that victory in OT vs the powerhouse known as ULM.
We going to be alright

THE Lie
And the disease

I think you guys are finally understanding
Wake up......

I, unfortunately, believe you are right. This script has played out so many times over the last 15 plus years. Get behind an inferior team on the road and they win like they did. I was told that I was a bad fan, lolol. No homie this proud alum just know our team is cursed and it’s a shame. another year, another year of bad coaching and lack of development. What are they doing to these kids, making them take neuro-physics for all their classes. I don’t agree that it’s completely talent. The school must be making it tough on the players to be “student-athletes”

it is what it is

First step UM needs to take is -- and I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago -- is to ease up on the schedule, yeah, start 'scheduling for success' for the time being. Realize where this program is right now, and just who they are. Then work from there.

Miami is a *** - just another program
