Blake Baker on Quarterman and Pinckney

Pinckney and Quarterman returning for their senior seasons was the biggest off-season move for Miami on the Diaz era. Bigger than any recruit, bigger than anything that came out of the Transfer Portal and as big as the coaching change.

I still shudder to think where this program is at if Mark Richt didn't have the class to step down and leave that buyout on the table. The fact he put his ego in his back pocket and did what was best for the program—incredible. Most guys would've taken a check for another year, made minimal changes and tried to prove they could do it their way.

The point in all that; if Richt didn't step down and Diaz didn't return—neither Pinckney or Quarterman are back for 2019 and this upcoming season would've been a huge disaster.

Richt was a class guy, which isn't that common in big-time college ball. That said, it was obvious the game had way passed him by.

******* hated last year, but still love Richt. I will never badmouth that guy, he did this U right by stepping down and not taking our cash. For that, he will always be good in my book. He gave us a really great season in 2017. We were all loving it. Dude is an A+ man in my book.
Go Canes!
