I find this puzzling, disappointing, and perhaps even objectionabld. Why?

CMU is a home game, right? We have talked endlessly about the attendance problem at the stadium.

Not having lived in South Florida for many decades, I have trouble understanding what it is that is so appealing in South Florida that it would keep fans from supporting the team at the stadium.

Am I right in thinking that this event will take place during the game and therefore is competition for attendance at the stadium? If I misread this, or otherwise misunderstand it, please (respectfully and politely) correct my misunderstanding.

Otherwise, why compete for attendance at the stadium? We all know that generally attendance problems are believed to hurt us in several ways, including, perhaps, in recruiting.

I don't want to disrespect the sponsors of this board, whom I believe to be devoted Canes fans, but why keep people from going to the stadium? Have an event at the stadium or nearby, with a break during game hours.

You can't believe how much I would love to go to games, but health and other considerations prevent it. I live 1000 miles away. You who live in South Florida are so lucky to have relatively easy access to the stadium...no travel, no hotel bills, etc. I can't believe you're having a watch party in South Florida when a game is not a sell-out.

I'm just shaking my head....

For real. I live about 700 miles away and I'm still thinking about heading down to the game. I don't get it.

We need a DMV CIS watch party. @kryptonite @AUcane @TheMatador @jw410 @MedleyCane @motorcitycane @Novacane32000 — who else?

I live in North Carolina (From Miami originally) and make all of the games here and in Virginia. People talk about there being so much to do in South Florida and I don't get it. If you are from the North East you really don't venture out anyway unless a northern team is playing. Besides, you can spend more quality time by cutting people off in the far left lane and telling anyone that will listen to you how much better New York is even though you have moved here voluntarily.

"Market Watch" Party? $10.00 Grey Goose? LOL WTF! I'd buy a bottle of tito's for $26.00 and drink it as I was walking up to the stadium.

I get some people have to work on Saturdays. However, if you have the means to go and you live in the 954/305 area code you should really be at the game. There isn't anything in Miami on a Saturday during college football season that should keep you from heading to the game if you have the extra cash. Don't say the "Beach" and "The clubs". You can go to them anytime.

The fact of the matter is that we have a small fan base and most of the fans live out of state. The true fans that live in the area ARE at the games. I will be at the Virginia game because I can afford to travel thankfully.

So let me get this straight…

@DMoney is encouraging fans NOT to go to the game? To go to a sports bar to watch the game?

I'll be at the game, but I'll probably stop at Black Market before or after. It's an all day event and the game is at 4. If you aren't going to the game, you want to go somewhere with ACC Network.

How long will the event be going after the game?

It's simple; if you're not going to the game go to this bar. If you are going to the game check out the bar before or after the game.
Do you seriously believe that a day beforehand, someone is going to change their plans of attending a game based on a post on a college football non-paying website about discounts on alcohol at a local bar?
No need to make a mountain out of a molehill.
