Bill Cowher in HOF

He’s a good coach, but I’m not really sure if he’s Hall of Fame material.

The Pro Football HOF is more prestigious in terms of the coaches it lets in than the College HOF. The College HOF lets guys like Earle Bruce, John Cooper, Hayden Fry in. It’s a little ridiculous in this regard.

But they won't let in Howard Schnellenberger, despite his clear impact at Miami, Louisville, and FAU.

He can’t get in because of the rule about win %.

His Miami tenure would probably be enough to get him into the CFB HOF, but the rest of his career was a little meh. His Louisville tenure had one big year, and from what I recall he slipped at the end of his FAU tenure because he refused to retire when he should have.

True, but he had a significant and lasting impact on all 3, which really should account for an exception.

If Hank Stram is in then The Chin absolutely belongs in as does Jimmy. Cowher took over a Steelers team that hadn't won more than 9 games in almost the decade prior. And we all know what Jimmy took over and what happened after his touch wore off in Dallas.
