Biggest Coastal Rival

Obviously VT but I like to say ND just to negate their phony "independent" status now.

When it comes to the coastal division I would say VT is our biggest rival due to all the times they have beaten us in key games over the years which is mainly one of the reasons we have not played in a ACC Championship game yet.

VT, without a doubt--they owe their mid-90's success to our program going on probation. Up until 1995 - 1999's 5-game stretch where they pwned us, we were 12-0 against them. That 5-0 streak they had on us in the mid-late 90's started their run to where they are now in national relevance. Before that--not a **** thing. Without that, we continue to shell them every year, and UVA/Maryland/WVU/etc. would have continued to get the kids they wanted from the Tidewater area.

Trust me. I live in SW Virginia, and that is the point in time that VT football started to become relevant, and it's no coincidence that it coincided with our probationary years.

Funny, I thought VT would have more to brag about...

Miami Vs. VT.webp

Hasn't VT beaten us like 8 of the last 11 meetings or something like that? They own us and I'm sick and tired of it. Outside of our own coaches/administration, VT has impeded our programs' progress even more than FSU. They are real rival.

The Coastal is one of the worst divisions in college football year in and year out.

The fact that we don't steamroll our way through it every season is depressing. **** all these nobody programs.

VT. We play them every year and they play us tough/best us a fair amount. They always have a competitive team.

I like all of the new Coastal division rivalries. They are way better than the Big East. It's the most competitive division in the Power Five, any given Saturday, any team can win.

It would be nice to renew the West Virginia rivalry, but I guess the new rivalry with Cincinnati is pretty good.
