You're crazy, go to Hialeah and you might find 10 people who know who is Toney. I've noticed Cuban's interest in soccer has rapidly grown over the past few years. If you're talking Messi and Inter Miami you're talking two different things, no one is an Inter Miami fan, they were probably dead last attendance before Messi got there. Once Messi leaves that team will be left in the dirt, yes the original shine wore off from when Messi got here but you see Messi/Miami stuff all over the place. Same as all these casual fans that hopped on the bandwagon during our playoff run, most these people just hop on what's trendy.

I agree Messi is more recognizable. But nobody really cares about him down here. Inter Miami won the title and didn't even have a parade.

I wonder how a big a gap (if any) there would be between first-generation immigrants to South Florida vs those Latino-Americans who who were born and raised in the SoFla as far as being bigger fans of football than futbol?
