Big update from Herald

Zo is in.

The following post comes from another site - I think the OP makes a number of good points. It makes sense if you think about it. As fans, we don't like that the process isn't moving at the pace we would like but there are some mitigating factors.

This can’t be true. CIS says Miami is a **** show, dragging its feet with no plan.
It makes sense but it better be Lane!

Some of these points may be relevant but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that:

The university was prepared for sweeping changes snd took longer than needed to fire BJ and then because of internal arguing hire a new AD

Only Miami would commingle the AD snd HC hiring processes

Consider this.

Although there has definitely been a civil war over Jurich, we are still on track to announce an AD hire within 14-15 days, which was the informally reported timeline expectation two weeks ago.

Which, of course, dovetails with a "play the final Duke game", and a "Manny eval period" and a "hire a HC after conference championship games" timeline.

It makes sense, even if people are impatient.

Sweeping changes don't always mean immediate-within-1-day changes.

Does anyone think we missed out on Lincoln Riley or Brian Kelly over these delays? I'd like this to be settled soon too, but I am actually more concerned with the BOT shutting their ******* mouths and ending the leaks to their favorite press pawns.

Obviously don’t know all of the facts but if Dec. 1 is really a thing then your hire the AD early so by the time the 1st rolls around their review could already be “legitimately” complete. Now, at best, you hire someone the day before the alleged deadline and it has the appearance of being rushed and pre-planned as they head toward litigation.

You think it takes longer than a day or two to evaluate 6-7, 8-3, and 7-5?

Hilarious.

Besides, there will be no litigation. That's the arrangement that UM and Manny Sr. made when UM was going to fire Manny months ago.

It’s getting hard to find the insider tidbits through all the responses of people freaking out over what they have no idea about. This board been on meltdown watch for days now

its partly the idiot fans on twitter, CIS, 247, etc. and partly the board and boosters unable to shut their stupid mouths about anything

If someone believes we would have paid 12-15 mil per year for either of the two then yea I guess..... I don't think UM would touch that number.... I mean I have doubt we'll even touch the 7 mil per year number....

In timeline fairness, the Old Guard was the first to spread false stories to counteract the will of the (rough) majority. I realize that we can try to step back and blame all parties for the BOT Civil War, but in fairness, it was the Old Guard that seceded and fired on Fort Sumter.

It's not about how much UM would have offered those two, it's simply that neither one would have seriously considered Miami, unless it was to drive up the price of poker.
