Unconscionable how ACC let this happen. Saw this earlier this week and it got my blood boiling. Ya sure, play this conference opponent, but it won’t count towards conference record. Maybe we can ask Cuse to play a non conference game since they were big east pals and we don’t play in the Carrier Dome enough.

I'm not sure why people are confused about this, they're playing a full ACC schedule and chose to schedule another "local" team which happens to be in the ACC in one of their available slots. They don't gain any advantage by doing this so what's the issue?
It would be no different if we scheduled Clemson instead of FIU.

No one is confused, it’s a conference opponent, therefore it should be a ******* conference game. Coastal is always tight, ****** division. It should just be scheduled as a conference game. None of this ole boy network bs .

Are you serious? If they're playing a full conference schedule why does it matter who they schedule OOC? In all honesty it's better than them scheduling say NC Central.

It matters because they are in the same conference! Can you name another example of this in any other conference in the country ?
 
Yeah I don’t get why this is such an issue. It’s not like they pick which conference games count and which don’t to get an advantage. Two local teams wanted to revisit a rivalry they don’t get to play often enough.
But go ahead and clamor for them to have a chance at an extra ACC win.

Well instead of both of them scheduling Bethune-Cookman they decided to play eachother. What’s so wrong with that
 
Canes have done this with FSU in baseball in the past. Rather play a conference team that does not count than an FCS school

It's just weird. Conference play should be conference play. This is one step above trying to schedule an exhibition. Which some might call playing Bethune but I digress.

Rooting for Wake. If we can finish with a better overall record it could help us with the bowl pecking order.
 
If it’s such a big deal, put them in same division. If it’s such a rivalry they can play every year.
