VT’s DE is leading the conference in sacks. He has 1.5 more than Baron.

I’m hoping Baron laps him this game. But the match up with CiCi is going to be fun to watch. He’s 6’3 250ish…so we’ll see.

"Moving him inside" was a compliment of his footwork.

Mario has almost exclusively recruited HS tackles. Some will move to guard.

Nothing personal, we were also breaking in a new center, who has outplayed the initial assessments that some gave after spring practice.

Samson may be the odd man out at this point. Markel is improving with every game.

will be interesting to see how next year goes for him. He needs a big spring. Don't think he has a guard makeup so I think tackle is his spot. It may be that he's the first tackle backup next year at either LT/RT, rides one more year as a backup, and then aims to start in 2026 as a RS JR. Hope he sticks around but he would be an understandable portal candidate next year.

For all of Cristobal's strengths as a recruiter, his focus in recruiting the position and reputation for developing O-lineman was a unique characteristic that other candidates didn't posses at the time of his hire. Under the previous staffs, UM didn't recruit and land blue-chippers at the position on a national level.

He doesn't quite have the pedigree Saban garnered with DB's, but similar to Saban at that position, he has a tremendous reputation as a Coach that can develop O-lineman (Mirabal as well). NIL was a factor, but Francis was coveted by every major program in the country. I have a hard time believing his decision to come to UM wasn't heavily influenced by the Head Coach and the focus this program brings to the position.

To be fair he would probably be a Pro Bowl Guard as well

Can’t wait to see him dominate this VT dude tonight
Exactly. Could likely play any spot in the league based on athleticism alone. As good as he already is, he still has some technical stuff to clean up. I bet this time next year, there is a noticeable difference. It's been cool to see a talent like him progress so far.

This was the comment I was going to make. This dude is just a fugcin freak. I remember seeing him do box jumps in high school and my eyes popped out of my head. 6'5" 340 lb 17 year olds aren't supposed to be able to do that.
We are lucky to have him.
