Better job, LSU or UF

LSU can do better in football overall. I actually do kind of like the Tigers a little bit. My "favorite" SEC school. I like the weird outfits on Saturday night home games.

But UF overall is definitely a better school. For many reasons.

LSU is a better job if you take the political angle out of it. Them ****** got the **** governor or whoever involved in the next head football coach hire. TF?! Too many chefs in the kitchen. But yea even still, it’s LSU, cause in Fla, there’s 2 other P4 schools in that state. Then you have to worry about every other school in the country coming down to recruit talent.

My instant reaction would have been LSU, just because their more recent success suggests they could recreate it easier. But I changed my mind after the idiot governor opened his mouth and it became clear that if you work at LSU you're subject to a cabal of lunatics (who really really don't want you to have a long term contract). Also, UF's drought has meant that they've become more patient with coaches. Think about this: Kelly and Napier both got fired after about the same amount of time, but Napier was 22-23 while Kelly was 34-14. You'll get paid big money at both places, but LSU comes with a shorter leash.

LSU is a top 3 job in America. And if you don’t want to deal with the donor politics in Texas, it could be #1

Its also the best baseball job in America.

They’re a good basketball program away from being the premier collegiate athletics institution by a very wide margin.
How could it be a top three job if you have to live in Louisiana?

It is a premier program but not close to top 3. I would say closer to 8-12 range. Especially once the NIL system catches up in other large schools there will be a shift in elite status.

EXACTAMENTE

Urban caught lightening in a bottle. In fact both times Florida has won, its because we were down

LSU is a job where I could say 10 coaches COULD win a national championship. Florida better have THE ONE and all things be right

LSU by a country mile

You don’t win two championships in a short period of time catching lightning in a bottle. He was one of the best to ever coach and Florida has more than enough to accommodate his talent with rings.

Problem for Florida is he’s a once in a programs history type of guy at the very most.

Big Game Brian Kelly's record was 5-11 vs ranked opponents at LSU.

His 34-14 overall record is fool's gold.

He racked up wins against bad teams, but whenever it counted the most he lost.

LSU but there’s more pressure to win big. BK just got fired with a 34-14 record. If G5 had that record, he probably wouldn’t even be on the hot seat.
Dan Mullen was 34-15 at Florida. LSU is just one more mediocre coach away from lowering their standards.

LSU is top 3 job in country

This whole clown show by the governor has hurt their chances to get any strong established coach. Now they need to find a new AD as well.

All teams in the market for a new coach, particularly UF + PSU, benefited from all the LSU drama this week

True, it wasn't good enough for LSU, but that's my point, their expectations are higher. If Napier had the same record he'd probably still be at UF.

LSU is a top job, but a reach saying its top 3. Major obstacle is the crazy politics.

Local high schools are a minor league for LSU. Local talent is good

Booster resources are massive

Saban, Miles and Coach O won nattys. Highlights the fact that you don’t need elite head coach to win it all (Saban is obvious exception). Player talent will always be there

Best gameday stadium atmosphere

Texas, Ohio St and LSU are the top 3 in no particular order

LSU is better job on paper for sure. But as a few of you have mentioned the fact they have no president, no AD and the state governor is actively involved makes things way way more complicated!

Watching a few talking heads

My thoughts LSU
Auto recruit state. No Louisiana stud leaves if the Tigers want 'em
Money is no objective

UF offers equal or better $and resources, but a shade better
But I don't see UF being that auto recruit level. Yes. Florida as a state has more talent that LA, but it's divided up, just not in state, but amongst the nation

And, yup
This is the Lane Train battle royal
If he stays at Ole Miss, it gets real interesting for each
Hello Joe Brady
Selfishly, since my daughter isn’t Ole Miss, I hope and pray he stays, but I’m betting he goes to one

Hello Joe Brady
LSU and it’s not even close.

To win 10 games a year at LSU what kind of coach do you need to be?

Les Miles and Coach O were successful at LSU. They’re .500 coaches at UF.

I think it’s a lot easier to be a perennial power at LSU. Kelly was an awful hire. He does not fit the kind of coach that LSU needs.
