Best recruiting states for the U (outside of Florida)

You need to follow the demographic trends AND the climate to play 365...large populations or growing populations + year round competion = more athletes to choose from...its what made SoFla the powerhouse it became (and still is) starting in the late 70s (because population boom started in late 60s and our natural weather advantage)...

While declining, California still has a massive population AND the weather to play 365...

Texas...particularly San Antonio in the coming years (fastest growing metro in US)...Austin...Dallas..Houston too...

Georgia...Atlanta area...

South Carolina...Columbia metro...

North Carolina (fastest growing state in South..passed Florida by % of growth)...Charlotte and Raleigh areas..

and of course SoFla with Jupiter coming into more play in years ahead as population creeps north...

All other areas really offer onsey-twosey type selections...

Its math + weather for bang for the buck.

Most of that growth is with non football playing people. You want a bunch of illegal Central Americans on your team?

DC...

While I understand your perception that the majority of the population boom is sourced from illegal immigrants (typically from Latin America)...the facts don't support it...just the same as when that was said about SoFla and those "**** Cubans everywhere"..

To be sure, they are a portion of the boom, no.doubt, but the majority portion comes, like it did in SoFla, from other states in the Union.

For Texas, its Californians moving in via a conveyor belt..and for the South, particularly North Carolina, its the North Easters and..wait..wait..Floridians who cant afford to live in our Paradise any longer...

Regardless of who/where...all comers are going to make a variety of babies..and some of those babies are going to grow up to be legit D1P5 athletes.

Probably too hard for Miami, but of they could develop a pipeline in Guam, Samoa, Fiji, and the Marshall Islands...the runts of most families start at 6-4 and 300. Probably some gold in those islands for OLs and DTs...

Just ask BYU and Utah...

As far as I'm concerned everything outside South Florida should be considered out of state (of Miami). We lock down South Florida, then all we will need is Lineman. 1. South Florida 2. The Rest of Florida 3. Georgia 4. Country Olineman

We should only go to California for quarterbacks or 5* talents that are serious about potentially coming here. Whether that means we get 1 every year or 1 every other year from Cali, it doesn't really matter to me. I will say it's much harder to get a recruit from SoCal than it is NorCal though.

We should get 3 guys from Georgia/Texas every year. Most likely Georgia will provide us with the most recruits on a yearly basis outside of Florida.

Finally and maybe most importantly, outside of Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California, Only go after Olineman and Dlineman. The only reason we should be getting non olineman from other states is if they are 1st round type talents, otherwise we can find players just as good and better down here.

Louisiana, Virginia,Texas, Florida...Georgia... That should be the base. If there is a special talent that fits your expectation as a coach then you obviously recruit him no matter where he is. But, geographically, its proven certain talent/size/skill come from certain areas.

I'm not a huge fan of west coast football. It's too soft, imo; except for a few players from rough upbringings(Marshawn Lynch).
I'm not saying avoid recruiting the west totally. I wouldn't put too much stock in anything but really special talent.

The southeast produces tough gritty talented football. The qb maybe the only thing lacking but the DMV area and Virginia as a whole can produce qb talent so you really don't need to go too far to field a championship team.

Jersey, ohio, pennsylvania, play some good ball. I'm only going there for lineman or Tight ends though.
