I think that was reason TE coach was out the door from both sides, only issue he finally had long prior relation ship with 5 star TE family in next class.. lol sigh

Yeah I sort of joking/not joking said the TE recruiter has gotta be elite because we keep landing blue chips despite Arroyo being the only one that did anything, and many would argue he should have been used more

I know there’s only so much to go around but seeing much we used Bauman as basically a 4th WR last year made me cringe

This team will be seen as the first true super team of the dynasty, on the level of peak Bama in talent.

Wonder if it will be a rotation like we saw in early 2017 and then as the year went on Richards, Cager, Berrios, Thomas, were the main guys.

TE will play, no doubt. I think Izzy will be really good, just not this year. Coaches really like Lofton too.

That said, it’s apparent that our strength is at WR. I would argue this year that our top 6 wrs pound for pound are better than our top TE. And what I’m encouraged is that last year we started showing massive shifts in making the right adjustments and breaking tendencies. I see us using 10 personnel quite a bit, especially with the wrs being willing run blockers. IMHO, that opens up everything that much more. Defenses have to respect 10 personnel with nickel coverage - now you got fewer guys in the box and you can run out of that with Fletcher - Mali comes across with a block springing him to one on one with one linebacker or db? I love those matchups.

And to top it off, I’m not sure Dawson is absolutely married to always trotting out a TE. Outside of Arroyo, he has never really had a highly productive TE.

If we have an outlier like Arroyo, absolutely play him. Thats a mismatch. But overall, we just need to play to our strengths instead of our preferences and we will roll fools this year.

This is what I've been screaming. If you have an Arroyo, of course you use him. If you don't have that kind of quality TE (and you're loaded with quality WRs which we are), limit the use of your tight ends.
