Best 30 for 30 ever

No disputing the top 2. The rest of the list is kinda off, tho.

1. The U
2. Fab Five
3. The U Part 2
4. Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs The Knicks
5. The Two Escobars
6. Once Brothers
7. Bad Boys
The SMU one was pretty goo, too.

I love The U but hate Billy Corben masquerading as the single source of truth for Miami story-telling. Taking the U and its sequel out of the equation entirely:

1. The Two Escobars
2. The Best That Never Was
3. Requiem for the Big East
4. Muhammad and Larry
5. I Hate Christian Laettner
6. Bad Boys
7. Four Falls of Buffalo
8. The 85 Bears
9. Benji
10. Pony Exce$$

I thought the 'Win and Advance' one would be higher on the list...it was a great one.

1. The U
2. Fab Five
3. Benji
4. The U pt. 2
5. The Two Escobars
6. Rand University
7. No Crossover (Allen Iverson)
8. Roll Tide/War Eagle
9. One Night in Vegas (Tyson/Tupac)
10. Brothers in Exile (Orlando & Livan Hernandez)
11. Without Bias
12. I Hate Christian Laettner
13. The Birth of Big Air

I liked Bad Boys a lot too, just couldn't figure out where to put'em on my list.

Those were two low key gems. Especially the Randy one (with a blink and you'll miss it cameo by Ron Dugans).

I loved that one about Randy Moss, he's one of my personal favorite players of all-time in NFL history...

The most electrifying offensive player in the modern era of football imo...

Like fr fr...the two escobars and once brothers are both like that.

Chris Herren's story "Unguarded" had me bawling the worst though. There's legit certain parts of that I can't watch anymore. The internal demons are so incredibly raw and relatable.

winning time might be the most entertaining of the bunch. that one hit on all cylinders.

I hate soccer but will readily admit that The Two Escobars is the best 30 for 30 overall. I can't stand Cohen and The U was maybe the easiest one of these to make but it's obviously still a close second. Some of the 30 for 30 Shorts are actually quite good too. There's one about President Nixon deciding the college football national champion that was really interesting. The one about the Jimmy Johnson orchestrated Cowboys-Vikings trade was great too.

Two Escobars and Best There Never Was have to be on any top 10 list.

Without Bias (Len Bias), Kings Ransom (Wayne Gretzky), and The Marinovich Project do not get enough credit.

Only one that I would put on par with ours is the smu one.... That one was great

I'm not going to include the obvious choices, but I will say this. The U: Part 2 was weak as all ****, it was made to be a Butch Davis hype video, and that made it borderline unwatchable.

Unguarded--If you don't look at addiction differently after that one, I don't know what to tell you
Pony Exce$$--It was similar to "The U", but with a story that serves as an indictment of the NCAA
Two Escobars--Another Well Crafted Film
Best That Never Was--It's amazing how many people haven't heard of M. Dupree
The Marinovich Project
Requiem for the Big East--Required viewing for Miami fans, maybe our fans would understand why we were forced to leave that conference.

Honorable Mention
This Magic Moment--An underrated film, people forget about that era of the NBA

When he was talking about being in rehab, and his counselor telling him to call his family and tell them he wasn't ever coming home, that was tough to listen to.

This one was unexpectedly great. It's so incredibly difficult to talk to these young'n's about the NBA these days bc their sense of history is so skewed (they'll flat out tell you Steph Curry is one of the 10 greatest players of all time). I remember this one came out and feeling refreshed that they were able to see young and lean LSU/Magic era Shaq who was an absolute force of nature. Also loved the humbling my man Hakeem gave him in the Finals.

And then Penny in his prime? I always gotta remind these jits: You think they gave him them those bad *** shoes (still the best Nike shoes imo) for nothing?

1. Two Escobars
2. Survive and Advance
3. Once Brothers
4. Best that never was
5. Benji

All of these are a must watch in 30 for 30

And when Corben finishes the one on JDF16, we'll add that one too

Definitely check out the OJ docuseries, I think that one is way up there with The U.... It was better than the FX scripted series
