Berrios Has More Drops than Catches over his Miami Career

The kid tries hard, but my goodness, the kid has stone hands. BY FAR the worse hands I've ever seen from a Miami WR in my 35 years of watching Canes football

He has more drops than he does catches and that's saying something, considering he gets reps.

There was some thread on him last year, and some posters brought up his catching ability at that point. Basically I said then that he tries to catch the ball with his boyd. From the moment he got here, I was surprised at how he seemed to fight any balls in the air - plus catches off his body and has dead legs.

Shocking! wasn't the scouting report on him Wes Welker/Wayne Chrebet too? ;)

Tell me again how Brad Kaaya is **** again?

Does this mean Brad's completion rate would have been 14.5% higher if receivers had a 6% drop rate? That would mean 4-5 more completions per game. Could have meant two wins.
Yes

But that stat and fact doesn't bode well with people on here bashing our qb so they ignore the facts

But you're acting like that's the ONLY fact. Yes, Kayaa has been the victim of drops. But Kayaa has also been the victim of Kayaa. It's not a coincidence that he has no big wins.

Our receivers don't seem to make contested catches, which is troubling. That said...Kaaya isn't really doing them any favors by placing the ball well. Not to mention he's out there trying to zip RPO slants in a monsoon...

But even with that, there was a Njoku drop and a Marquez drop that were completely unforced last saturday.

The lack of execution is problem 1, but the lack of offensive identity is 1A and surely contributes to #1 .

It's like a band that wants to be creative but doesn't have a cohesive "sound" and it all ends up sounding like a pile of ****.

No I'm not. I have said several times that kaaya has underperformed

But 20% drops is a big deal against our two toughest opponents. And we were still in it to win it

Calling for richt to give up play calling and kaaya to be benched is stupid

Even if that 20% is cut in half we win those games and are 6-0 , 5-1 at worst

There are several reasons we lost, kaaya and richt own their share but the receivers hold the bulk of the blame

OL is #1 , then everybody else.

BUMP

Get this kid off the field. Kaaya put a perfect ball on him on 3rd and 17 and he fought the ball instead of trying to catch it with his hands.

When I said that our WR talent is the worst I've seen at Miami in a long time a people told me I was crazy. I was also told I was crazy/dumb for saying that Berrios is pedestrian. Now we're over here talkin' about "bench him". SMH

One of Golden's most pathetic failures IMO was the inability to recruit WR's and CB's while being located in South Florida. Just flat-out retarded. Our WR core is embarrassingly pedestrian.

Aren't there several Gorlden CB croots that are in the NFL?

T. Howard, Burns, Gunter.

Just the facts.

Soooo is that supposed to validate Golden's CB recruiting? A couple guys?

T. Howard is in the NFL as a Safety. (apparently couldn't cut it at CB)
Gunter is mediocre.

How 'bout the guys he didn't recruit that are excelling at other schools right now?

Majority of "the drops" are from terrible passes from Brad Kaaya. There considered drops even though they are uncatchable but the wr attempted to catch it anyway. Its funny how ppl are trying to find every excuse in the world to point the blame away from Kaaya when reality is we would be undefeated with a better QB on the field.
