Miami has been on chasing 6'2" 330lbs 2016 DT Benjamin "Shug" Frazier who last spring had Miami and LSU as his top schools, but during the fall he named a new top 3 of LSU, Tenn and FSU (FSU has not offered an I doubt they will). I really like this young mans style of play; he plays with power and leverage at the point of attack for the defense an simply throws human beings around for fun! A little tidbit to consider Frazier was benching 315lbs in the 8th grade for Reps now that is country strong! Miami needs to lock this kid up as part of the 2016 class to put at the NT spot playing in front of the best LB group in the nation for the 2016 class! Whether Miami plays a 3-4 or 4-3 over/under front in the future this kid is a take because both fronts utilize a NT.

Here is an aritcle where Frazier discusses his recruiting interests in Miami
http://camplineman.com/dt-shug-frazier-lands-bama-offer-plus-others/

“Miami and LSU are standing out to me, “ says Frazier. “They consistently check up on me and have showed the most interest. I have a lot of visits I want to take coming up and ideally I want to make a commitment before my senior season. I want to find a school where I can get a proper education and feel a sense of belonging from the coaching staff and players.”

Frazier wants to commit before his senior year so Miami's new dline coach needs jump on the this kid hard and heavy to re-establish the lines of communication before he is snapped by an SEC team. LSU will more than likely stay in Louisiana this year for thier DT needs because LA has a lot of quality DL's for 2016, UGA loaded up last year on DL's the state is loaded again this year an I think there are 4 other instate players rated higher that UGA will pursue. That leaves Miami and Tenn to battle it out for Frazier but Tenn loaded up at DT the last 2 years (2014=4 & 2015=3) so I can't imagine them taking more than 1 or 2 DT's for 2016 which makes Miami's chances very good to be the last team standing for Frazier if UM makes him a priority from now. (so all you social media folks go show the kid some Cane love)

Frazier was a one man wrecking crew when Buford HS played Trinity Christian (Jacksonville, FL)

Look for #91 in green (also unfortunately there were quiet a few plays where UM signee Kendrick Norton #73 in white got blown up at NT)

An now USC is coming hot and heavy at young Mr. Frazier so he is setting up a trip to LA. **** for USC to come across country this early for kid, things are going to get real interesting real fast with recruitment.

Miami needs to step up our efforts with recruiting Ben "Shug" Frazier, otherwise he could end up at flipping USC.

LSU is going in another direction with an will most likely fill thier last 2 dline spots for 2016 with instate kids.

An Tennessee has 1 spot left if at all for dline in the 2016 class and they are chasing DT Stephon Taylor, DT Rashard Lawrence, Westfield (Texas) DL Ed Oliver and IMG Academy (Fla.) standout Shavar Manuel.

So this just leaves USC, but I am hoping the distance to the West Coast will play a factor in the end along with Miami hopefully having a great year. He could fall to Miami by default in the end.

Appreciate you continuing to track this situation, Para. Is that you interviewing him in the last video?

New UM DL coach vs. Ed Orgeron. Advantage LSU.

LSU is going in a different direction Frazier is a plan C type for LSU, but should be a Plan A+ for Miami. LSU is most likely keeping tabs on the young man just in case they miss on the other 4 players but it is mostly a Tenn vs USC race at this point.

I lost any and all hope when you included "NT". We must not have those positions, DT/NT, at The U because we never get the studs.

With Miami Freshmen NT Kendrick Norton being the rave of camp thus far both from a athletic stand point and use of technique, one would think that would make Miami coaches step drastically the recruit of player whom last fall in a head to head match up for most of their game simply manhandled Norton. So simple logic would dictate if Ben Frazier can man handle Kendrick Norton (who is a year older) and Norton is out performing most of Miami's current interior dline players, then Frazier would perform even better.

But for some reason things are very very quite with Miami and Benjamin Frazier's recruitment he is instead focusing on LSU, USC, and possibly Tenn (all whom are slow playing him as a plan B/C). Miami needs to make this kid Plan A+ for the 2016 class, his first official written offer came from Miami which is always a good move.

Paranos you should call the staff better yet show up in person and demand a face to face meeting and remind them of all these DTs that should be miami priorities yet they keep passing on,just make sure to be firm with them and don't back down when they give you BS.

Big-time (and quality) DTs largely aren't interested in Miami at the moment. You have to do an incredibly poor job as a coaching staff to make that happen.

Our school is one of the best historically when it comes to productive DTs at both the college and pro level. Sapp and Kennedy are already in the Hall and Wilfork may be joining them in the future - I wouldn't think that there are too many other universities with 3 DTs in the Hall....Perhaps Jerome Brown would've put together enough quality years to be in there, too....and others were solid, but no quite good enough to be in the Hall....

We got to land one of Frazier, Logan or Whitfield.

I think Logan might be our guy once LSU gets a combination of Rashad Lawrence, Ross Blacklock or Stephon Taylor in addition to Edwin Alexander.

with 2016 DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles reportedly leaning strongly toward his instate LSU Tigers, and alot of the other Top DT's starting to fly of the recruiting boards, Miami new staff needs to revisit flipping Frazier from NC State commit. With all the athleticism UM is adding on the dline Miami needs some serious beef to be added to the 2016 Class.

Frazier is ready to play as a freshmen, but could also benefit greatly from a redshirt year.

Who's the lead recruiter at NC state? They got shug and brock Miller and in contention for Becker!
