Behind the U: TRob Episode

Yep worked out well but it just insinuates that Miami is still the same ole Miami. Cheap and poor. It’s gotten better but it’s still not good.

The concern is the number of times that this caused us to miss a coach. Is this the reason we can’t fire Rumph? Too cheap to pay a buyout? Is this why we can’t fire Baker and hire a new DC? Sounds like it
Look no further than our five titles with four different head coaches.

This place is never happy with anything.
MOPE Squad in full effect right now.

People have been praying that we get this guy on Staff for years.

When he finally became available: “No way he would come here. Why take demotion.
No way we can afford him. He’s too alpha for manny”. “He teaches db’s to turn around and not a good fit in Manny’s scheme”

We finally land a coach that everyone wanted and he admits to taking less money and dumb shts lose their **** minds.
How is this a bad thing?
He chose less money in a real estate market that’s like 3 times what hog town is.
He chose us over an sec program that many kids and media douchebags view right now as in better shape and a better destination than us.
Also, we do t know how much less.
We also don’t know what incentives are included.
Second of all, how bad must Gainesville be that he took less money to come here where the cost of living is more expensive?
What message does it send to recruits that a coach that could literally chose a destination point and get more money chose to come here?
What message does it send to other coaches that someone that worked under Muschamp (who is very respected) wants to work for less money for Diaz?

we have some legit issues and complaints but *****ing about t-rob taking less money without knowing all the facts and seeing all the positives is definitely not one of them.

I don't know what y'all expect really but if we're able to come up with something close to 75% of what big state programs with literally 10x the endowment and alumni support can, that's what we have to live with.
**** u can open the wallet up and spend XYZ but if ain’t the right group of ppl in your building it don’t mean **** at the end of the day. There’s no sure thing when picking a coach unless it’s a proven top flight guy your really just throwing your money in the wind..or McDonald’s bags like Tenn. it’s about investigating in the right ppl and letting them work. Not throwing a bag at the Hottest name. FSU about to learn that the hard way

If manny is successful here he would never Leave. This is his home and His city and I doubt there would ever be nfl interest

Just listened and now I totally understand why he's such a good recruiter, I hope he's here for a long time.
If he shines at DB coach he’s inline for a Dc job here or another program. Imo he’s a asset that I’d keep around if I’m manny. Even if that means a better title after 1 year

Basically, Manny is a f'ing closer and the mope squad can't handle it.

I also don't think people are understanding the value of having DVD unleashed on the trail. The guy, while restricted to campus, has already won a few battles. He's a dog, and he's a deal.

More to come.

DVD is already in contact with 23 kids and the kids in the 22 class say he’s been talking to them since the 8th grade. He’s gonna kill it.

We are slowllyyy building our recruiting up. DL, RB, TE and S have all been A grades the last few years. OL and WR are the next tier with some decent prospects and some projects. LB and CB are the woof positions.
A grades for LB’s?? **** is you smoking?! We ain’t got one 4 star LB since Shaq to commit to us! We’ve gotten like 12 4 star corners since bruh

Highly doubt we’re paying him $1m. He said he was gonna go to UF so that was the alternative offer.

Glad to have him but lucky the money BS didn’t bite us in the ***.
That should be a reality check for many here that this program is no longer considered “top tier.” We’ll always have the potential to put together a championship-caliber team due to our proximity to some of the nation’s best recruits, but we’re still miles behind the blue bloods in other areas, mainly financial support.

If this program can continue to build on its momentum and string together some 10 win seasons, then I think it reenergizes the donor base. For now, however, it’s an up-hill battle.

Huh? What are you reading or smoking bro? I said LB and CB recruiting are woof or bad or worst tier, however you want to put it. Never said LB's were A grade?

You’re not wrong. But if that’s the case.. this is the ceiling. We’re halfway committing but won’t fully commit. We can go 7-5 8-4 just hiring upcoming HCs and letting them leave at their first big offer and do it again. Either commit the extra 2-3 million and be legit or don’t bother upping the budget to where it is now.

Of course there’s been drastic inflation but Coker was once the highest paid HC in America at Miami.
or worse. make FIVE wrong HC hires in 20 plus years and meander in mediocrity for 20 plus years.

What is less tho? Miami paying him 1mil and other teams was offering 1.5? Take into account no state taxes
Well, he said he was going to UF if Manny hadn't convinced to come to UM, so not sure the State tax situation had much to do with it.
