ND secondary is good and seems to be a significant challenge tonight, but are they AS good as many are saying .. i.e. best in the country good? have they faced anyone as good as Beck since October 2023 (Caleb williams) - and have they done well against the good QBs they've played?

I think they benefited from playing really down competition (QB wise) and had some positive things swing their way - weigman injury, dodging Haynes king and Carson Beck, getting Indiana who was severely overmatched talent wise in the playoffs etc.

anyone play caller with a pulse(Louisville, USC, ohio state) all did perfectly fine against this secondary and beck/dawson should as well

A&M (W - 23-13) - solid performance by ND defense, but this isn't the same Connor weigman. he was hurt and now he's at Houston

NIU (L - 16-14) - was clearly a motivation / prepared thing but still shows it can be done

Purdure (W - 66-7) - nohting to take from this, Purdue was really really bad

Miami (OH) (W- 28-3) - nothing to take from this

Louisville (W - 31-24) - shough played well enough to beat them - If beck has this stat line I think we win tonight

1756659590991.png

Stanford (W - 49-7) - nothing to take due to how bad Stanford is

1756659669646.png

GT (w/o Haynes king) (W - 31-13) - king didnt play, backup played well considering circumstance imo

1756659712768.png

Navy (W - 35-14) - nothing to take from this

1756659748371.png

FSU (W- 52-3) - nothing to take from that trash

1756659901084.png

Virginia (W - 35-14) - a solid performance by ND defense but this is when colandrea was falling, muskett played well

1756659928315.png

Army (W - 49-14) - nothing to take from here

USC (W - 49-35) (this highlights that we should be ok)

Playoffs

Indiana (W - 27-17)

- Rourke didn't have a great game, but did he play bad considering the talent difference?

Georgia (W - 23-10) * Gunnar Stockton*

Penn State (W - 27-24) - Allar was shut down, really only game I can point to that's highly impressive by ND and even with that, I think allar is overrated

1756660370981.png

Ohio State (L - 34-23) - Howard had his way with them and they could have thrown for way more, it wasn't just J smith either

We shall see. Both the USC games and Louisville games were not bad coverage at all. Just two examples of QBs dealing perfect dimes and receivers making ridiculous catches time and time again. I couldn't believe how much they were converting those with DBs draped all over them. When the O is on fire like that, it is rarely a win. I will happily take the win in those games ans tip my hat to the O. It was crazy. Hopefully Miami doesn't play out of their minds like that.

Every capable QB besides Allar had a solid day against ND. And that wasn’t the only time he struggled. He basically had that same game against SMU and Boise in the 2 games prior to ND.

Shough, Maiava, Rourke, Stockton, and Howard all had days that would lead to Miami winning easily with a similar result from Beck.

The rest are absolutely pathetic passing offenses. Our passing defense would have probably been top 25 against 2 service academies, GTs 3rd string, FSU, Purdue, Virginia, Stanford, NIU, and Miami OH.

All the pressure on their secondary. Our secondary? No pressure at all

Beck has played against the best secondaries CFB has to offer over the last couple of years; this is just another opportunity to play football for him.

The best thing []__[] could do for him is run the football and tackle well.

Ash is going to bring pressure 50+% of the time. He's got to have us lined up and aware of extra men. His presnap routine has to look like Cam's.
