Beard....OUT?

Beard was solid here. The WR play most certainly improved under him, and that's what you want from a WR coach. There must be an added title for whomever is taking over the position, because if it was just coaching WRs I think Beard would have stayed.

Not trolling, probably just ignorant.

Like any coach, CJ has gained TONS of valuable experience since being here...TONS. That isn't even discussing the LA recruiting he brings to the table.

I'm stoked with Napier, and very happy with CJ.

As to Beard, I thank him for his service and appreciate him arguably being the best coach, outside of Scott, on a staff that had much more experience than he did. He did his job and did it well...and he's a Cane..so f-u to all those taking a dump on him now.

UM

that just shows you're ignorant of the situation. he brings ZERO in LA recruiting. he is hated in New Orleans area high school coaching circles.

I know beard is gone hurts with bruce but do you guys think that the hire of Rumph his former coach also will help keep him?

Does anyone really care about bruce were are the U lets get it back

Unless you're stupid, everyone cares about Bruce. We were great because we had a great playmakers, and he has the potential to be one

No I'm not. he was horrible recruiting in his last years in Miami he was horrible at recruiting wide receivers at Tulane they had 3 scholarship receivers on the team this past year in his fifth year as head coach which is impossible to do if you cry. He was widely he needed in the New Orleans high school football community. Sean Payton brought in an assistant wide receiver coach in his last year's with the Saints because he didn't trust him enough I could go on and on and on about why he would not be a good hire

"he was horrible recruiting in his years in Miami"

That's not entirely true.
He was very good under Butch both recrutiing and coaching.
As a matter of fact he was one of the best recruiters of Butch staff.
The players he produded during that time speaks for it self.
He did tail off during Coker's tenure...that's true.
BUT I would venture to say all position groups did.

Listen to 1985. CJ had this mythical reputation as a recruiter when he failed to land TONS of highly rated kids, including kids from LA. He gets credit for Wayne and Faulk (to SDSt) but for as many targets as he went after, he missed out much more often than not.

Remember when everyone was cranking away at their dinguses over a 3 minute clip of Beard coaching some weird foot shuffle technique during spring practice?

I do.

Add another one of Golden's soldiers to the pile of bodies and set it on fire. The last trace of the virus has been eradicated.

Yep, and throughout the video he kept saying "You feel me"

Sorry, I don't want a coach at a major university using "You feel me" when coaching up his players.

Good riddance

Shut all the WA the fugg up. No one cares what you prefer in a coach. Especially if that's what you're judging them by. Dumb *** post here, man.

if we get adam henry, billy napier, or even joker phillips i think we should be set because the position that they will have is most likely wr/co-oc/rc. Adam henry and billy napier i think might be the guys richt is looking to add but if he has waited this long it has to be napier after the championship game on monday.

the only legit coaches we have on the staff are cmr, kuligowski, searels, and diaz. The rest are pretty green, so 1 or 2 more legit coaches would make this staff legit with experience and newbies. Let's see what cmr does...... but i do like this staff that he has put together they should be solid

Thank you. The revisionist history is hilarious around here. Everybody is an expert, and CJ got a HC gig and NFL experience because he was a flat out bum at UM who couldn't recruit...only Butch recruited during that time..lol.

Oh, and Pete Garcia didn't exist either because he's just a FIU loser.

CJ has learned a few things since his time here, fact. Is his recruiting abilities less because he is now "hated in New Orleans"...**** if I know, but it has no bearing on the reality of what he did when he was here.

Sam Bruce's comments wrt the Beard news are not very encouraging:
“It’s going to make a factor, I’ll just leave it at that. It’s going to make a factor,” Bruce told SEC Country. “There’s no guarantee that I’ll leave the University of Miami, but it’ll be something to definitely think about.”

Bruce, a four-star receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was coached by Beard for two years at University High School before transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas as a junior after Beard left for Miami. Their relationship has kept Bruce committed to this point.

After former coach Al Golden was fired at Miami, Bruce tweeted, “As long as KB there, I’m there.” But prior to Friday’s news, the Under Armour All-American had already been looking at other schools.

We shall see.

You know this how? Depending on your source, Golden was loved or hated by area high school coaches. Same with Shannon before him. Recently most of them would've picked Mario. That's a broad statement and I wouldn't mind hearing your reasoning.

I wouldn't mind having him, but if we don't life goes on. We're talking about a 5'6 (I don't care what his reported height is, he's short as ****) wide receiver whose frame is maxed out. He's got talent, but until proven otherwise, I'd question the durability at this level anyone with his stature.

Trivia question....

Who recruited Jon Richt and was his QB coach in 2008 at Clemson?

Who are the recruits he missed on as a HC? How closely do you follow Tulane recruiting? There's no way you'd know any of the guys they'd be in on as we don't recruit anyone they would. Elite kids in Louisiana aren't ever going to consider Tulane, nor should they no matter who is there.

As for here, we kept pointing to next year with WR recruits if I remember correctly. I still remember Chef one year saying to not worry about our WR's, we got Preston Parker next year. That was all under Johnson, yes?
