Beard....OUT?

I'm worried about how things changed things with recruits but other than that depending on who comes in, I'm okay with it

I wonder how legit the Billy Napier rumor is now. You cant bring in some JAG to replace him. A lot is made about Beard lack of experience the bottom line is the WR group as a group played much better

U can question his resume' lack of years of experience etc. but if the true test is how a position group performs then he did a decent job. Rejuvenated the careers of some that hadn't done much since they had been at UM.

Here's to hoping we have a good WR Coach on the way..

I suspect the Napier rumors have legs....

Think its going to be:

CO-OC/WR Napier
QB Jon Richt

Napier coached QB's and can help little Richt along with daddy.

the only way he is out is if the incoming WR coach is clearly a better hire. like you said, beard had a noticeable impact on our WR group. I was always a fan of his as a player, so selfishly i would like to see him stay (because i think he has done enough to warrant that, and he has a history as a hs coach in sofla)...but i trust richt will make the right move.

If beard is out, he will land on his feet.

Some people are missing the point. The WR coach is most likely going to be co offensive coordinator and will be in charge with installing the game plan. Richt already has a young coach in Thomas brown, he probably didn't want 2 inexperienced guys running the offense during practice. So regardless of how the receivers improved (which they did, I think beard will be a solid WR coach somewhere), richt couldn't take a chance on another young guy. That's just my take on it.

This may be way out there speculation, but is this possibly why we're back on Snelson? In case we lose Bruce over this?

Richt needs to add another veteran proven coach to the staff. Doesn't have to be an old guy like Curtis. Could be a young dude, but he needs an infusion of veteran coaching to the staff especially considering that the final hire will have co-OC duties.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if it's Napier.

That would be sick but highly unlikely.

TIFWIW, but a guy on another site said that Curtis Johnson is our next WR coach.

He claims to have sources, but you know how that goes.
