Beamer quote on Duke Johnson

Duke is as good as any back we have had, personally think Gore would have set every record had he stayed healthy

So he's basically calling him better than Edge, Portis, McGoahee, Gore.

Exactly...... Duke is not in that Class.

Duke not in that class? What're you smoking, I could understand you saying he's not better than them, but not in their class? Duke has played for an O Line that vs good teams has got there sh*t pushed in his whole career. (Check the UF tape Duke had to consistently make 2 guys miss to get a 2 yard gain. Then there's the fact that he's played for some of the dumbest coaches to ever be at Miami, consistently been misused and some games not used at all. If Duke played for the canes in 2000-4 you're going to sit here and tell me he doesn't win a Heisman? Reggie Bush type numbers. When he leaves he'll hold the record for most rushing yards and all purpose yards at Miami, and get drafted accordingly for doing so.

What's sad is Duke has a real chance of ending his Miami career without a bowl win or a win against FSU.

Guys, Ice Harris is the running backs coach.... Every time Duke came off the field he went straight over and talked to Ice... I loved seeing that, lets me know that Golden knows he needs Ice...

FINALLY Got a coach that i know would yell and put some real fire into kids..Ice was letting dudes have it even after 7 yd runs.....and he knows his sh*t on offense to.

Frank Gore freshman year was unlike anything i've ever seen from a RB at Miami.

Gore had unreal potential. We will never know what he would have done at UM without the injuries. We have a good idea from his NFL success, but will really never know.

Before acl he was the best I've ever seen, unreal! But Duke is elite, he's an all time great Cane.

And some UM fans say he's 'overrated'...

Yeah, seriously, Ive heard that...

If you're looking at his production vs FSU, UF, K State, Notre Dame, Louisville...I could see the 'overrated' argument.

2012
Duke got 6 carriers against K-state
Duke got 8 carriers against ND
Dude got 9 carries vs FSU
That is not Duke being over-rated but our offensive coordinator sucking donkey balls, which is why he was fired, and our defense not keeping us in games and giving up 40+ points

2013
Duke got 23 carries for 97 yards against FSU's D
Didn't play Louisville because he was hurt

2014
Duke got 20 carries for 90 yards against Louisville in one of the worst openign night play calling games of Coley's carrier - handcuffed by fat Al.

Our team has sucked, our corches have certainly sucked - but I've never seen Duke not run hard, or be over-rated.

Our offensive coordinator in 2012 was Jedd Fisch. He wasn't fired, he left for a promotion and is now the O-coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Where are the guys who said those 5lbs made him slow?

You can't see the difference in his speed from his frosh year to now?

Youza dumb nggah then cuz.

He was never a CJ Spiller but he doesn't have that same burst or elusiveness that he used to. He's more physical now yes. Slower. Yes.

Yea, I already said I was mistaken on him being fired - the point stands, he sucked and nobody was crying when he left....were you?

Really impressed with Ice Harris. He has all his backs running hard and aggressive, even Gus Edwards looked good and ran with a toughness we haven't seen him run with before.

As for Duke, he's the best back I've seen at Miami, with the possible exception of Edge. Better than McGahee and Portis, IMO. And that's really saying something.

Duke is a special, special talent. We're really blessed to have him as a Miami Hurricane, that's what I'll say.
