Thomas Castellanos, sophomore transfer from UCF who grew up in the 305 before finishing up high school in South Georgia (Waycross for y'all who might be familiar with the area).

Watched some of Boston's College game at Syracuse last night and the kid is flat-out a playmaker. Eagles have won five straight (weak comp for sure) and he's passed for 800 yards and ran for 500.

Interesting story (linked below) on his background as an older brother, Akeem Jones, was a star QB at Carol City and legit D1 prospect before going JuCo in Kansas. I'm sure LCE, gogeta and some others knew all about him.

Watching Castellanos reminds me of the type of QB I've often wished Miami had: A guy who could make things happen with his arm and his feet. Surround a difference-maker like that with talent at the other skill positions and we've got something for sure.

Watched the fsu vs bc and I think the kid is a baller. bc will be the toughest game on our remaining schedule aside fsu.

We have a guy like that right now in Brown, but people shut on him and say he will never play here smh. These guys are the types we pass on because they don’t fit the prototype, but the prototype has now evolved. It’s no longer the statue Payton Mannings. It’s now the dual threat guys or guys who can at least take off for 10-20 yards on any given play.

Brown himself knows he's not ready

Yeap Castellanos is a great example of a young man a little underrated who just needed time to mature and grow into his talents. I think we all know that what differentiates maybe a top 6-8 team from Miami is a “great” QB. If the first 4 games TVD shows up for the last 4… I don’t see us winning less than 3.

I like him.
I’ll always root for a kid that’s a competitor, tough, and makes plays.
Very good running QB.
That being said, that game is not even close if he hit open receivers down field.

He's a gamer. Good athlete, limited passer. He's also working with almost zero skill talent at BC. On a more talented team, he would likely be more of a star. The Eagles likely wouldn't win a game without him.

Dual threat would mean being able to do 2 things......run and complete passes down field(not WR screens). If Brown is playing meaningful snaps for Miami then Miami is no longer trying to win games. I am all for a QB that is mobile but dont want a QB that prefers to run.

After watching bc last night I knew this thread was inevitable smh

We all knew Jacurri was a project high risk high reward type gamble. He got no development in high school and said his coach just ran him because he was that talented. Dont let judgement of year 1 blind you when the wrapping wasnt supposed to be taken off til year 3 (keep in mind he had that attitude coming in, wanted to be developed and came in a qb room with TVD and Garcia)..

Redshirt soph year is I think the earliest we can begin to make judgement, look at the school up north and the dividends they are reaping with Jordan travis, 2 years ago EVERYONE would laugh if someone said he would develop and lead them to where they are now.

Good player and story and thanks for sharing link but, goodness, what a poorly written piece. First, what happened to his brother? And then article briefly mentions another sibling. It reads like it was an AI-generated article. Anyways, thank you for raising awareness on this young man.

C’mon man!!! Maybe the family didn’t want to disclose that info..

I love JB.. kid is going to be great at anything he wants after his playing career..

But I really think he should think about moving to WR.
