Bauman

I’m going to ask this one time and I’ll believe whatever your answer is.

But, are you Bauman’s dad?
No, I’m a fan who doesn’t think it’s right to trash a kid on a message board after a loss that wasn’t entirely his fault. Plenty of blame to go around — coaches and players.

Punter took way too long to kick the ball and walked himself outside of his protective wall.
There was no protective wall. Protective walls block people. As others have mentioned Bauman literally just stood there and made zero effort to block. If we had put anyone else out there instead of Bauman the punt would not have been blocked

Don’t ******* do this guys.

He’s also the reason Fletcher scored our first long TD. Awesome block.

You can’t blame the game on one player.

We’re all hurting but be better than this. Kid gave his heart and soul for us to get to this point. Maybe tell Kalter, the special teams coach, to not always roll the punter to the right because it’s really ******* obvious.
No, just no. This isn't Pop Warner, that's a grown man that made a lazy play and it **** near cost his teammates a National Championship. Pointing that out isn't attacking him, it's discussing the obvious. He should be ashamed of himself for that effort. I can live with a guy getting beat, I can't live with someone NOT TRYING. EFFORT is the one thing that even the least talented, uncoordinated athlete can perform. Bauman couldn't even give the same level of effort as a **** walkon.

You also don’t know what the call was in the huddle. Maybe there was a miscommunication. Again, I’m not excusing the effort, but people are acting like he’s the reason we lost the game. That’s just not true.

I’ve said it all year our special teams operations would cost us. Just sucks it happened on the big stage

Anytime that guy was touched while trying to make a catch he folded completely.

One of the worst players to put on the U. Awful awful awful

Even in Dawson offense he was a disappointment. I didn't realize he was the *** hat who let the guy run free to the punter, God ****.

Mensah made him look like f uki ng Jimmy Graham

That punt block was a glorified turnover that led DIRECTLY to points. He didn't lose the game by himself, but once that happened, our win probability dropped significantly. IU is a team that desperately needs help to win games, they lack the offensive explosiveness needed to win shootouts. Miami gave them a TD that they didn't have to earn.

There's absolutely no way the call was "Hey Bauman you're just going to let a guy run right past you while you have your thumb up your butt and you do absolutely NOTHING to stop him" . He just didn't give a crap and acted accordingly. He's not a freshman thrown out there last minute, he's a GROWN MAN. He knows better, and still gave absolutely zero effort. That's the kind of effort that got you punched out in the locker room back in the day.

I’m not excusing it. I’m saying he might have thought Joyce wasn’t rolling and that’s why he kind of punched and started sprinting down field. It sucks. It’s a play he’ll never forget. One that hurt us really bad. But it definitely wasn’t the only one.
