It's one thing to see Sun Life 30% full of cheering fans, but watching the "U" playing Monday nights basketball game is astonishing...Looks like 80% of the seats empty...Is the lack of a quality football program bringing down other sports venues?

They were saying they had a record level of ticket sales going into this season so I'd reserve judgment until we start playing real teams.

What did they do last year? This is THE U. Win or go the f...... home.

Stop it. They're predicted to have a very good season and make a deep run in the tourney. They sold the most season tickets in school history. They played Louisiana-Lafayette on a Monday night. Keep winning, and they'll be selling out.

I think the real question is, who gives a flying **** about canes basketball?

Sorry, football is it for me. Will never get excited about Bball except as an add-on.

I do, oh and also - baseball, women's bball, swimming, tennis etc. Football is the passion but want excellence in all sports.....and academics. If all you care about is Football so be it, that's YOU not "U".

Absolutely not. I believe Miami sold 6,000 season tickets. Miami just beat a team that is favored to win its conference, but you'd have to follow college basketball to know that. They'll draw for the known big names. Sound familiar? BTW, this might be Miami's best basketball ever if it stays healthy. It's deep and talented and their wing players are as good as anybody's in the conference and in the nation.

Maybe more should. They have had more success than the football program in the recent past. I guess the hoop team that won the ACC three seasons ago doesn't deserve any credit? What a ridiculous thing to say...

hate to break it to u but the football team has sucked for 13 years and will suck for more years to come--don't get the hate for the bball team. I'm guessing the hate comes from the Miami football fans but root for duke bball--non alumni

Not as much talent on paper as the team with Scott, Larkin, and Kadji. Also not as deep as that team either.

We're going to have to disagree. When Murphy comes off suspension Miami plays 9 without drop off. This team has deeper wing play and a true 5. More scoring options. Rodriguez doesn't have to be Larkin. He just has to play controlled.

Ive watched a lot of Rodriquez now and he is a liability on the court. Him vs Larkin is what separates these rosters so much.

This is college basketball, we dont need a true 5. I would rather have the better forward depth that we had back in 2013 than Tonye.
