Barry's Jackson's Sports Buzz

"He's a class act. He's a disciplinarian, the kind of guy we need to lead us. We are under a microscope and we can't have off-field problems. I want to win the right way."

WTF? Uh, this out-of-touch geezer knows that we aren't winning at all, right?

Wasn't Shannon a disciplinarian and ran the program the right way too? Wowzers with these BOT members

You know who else were disciplinarians? Jimmy Johnson (yes, he was) and Butch Davis.

But Randy was black and everyone knows you can't be black with a swamp donkey record and keep your job
See, everyone that said the racist angle was bull**** was completely wrong. Because Al wears a tie, is well spoken and gels his hair, he's suddenly a great disciplinarian and great representative of the school. Yet he has more arrests under his watch than Shannon ever did with a similar win loss record. Please explain to me how there isn't even a slight hint of racism involved.

When we lose the bowl game, the fans and alums will just go absolutely NUCLEAR, especially if it's UCF. The situation is toxic now, but we ain't seen nothing yet!

Jesus ****!

******* *****, limp-****ed, no-balls-having, useless, incompetent administration pieces of ******* ****!!!!

Kill your ******* selves. NOW!

Only hope is we get slaughtered in the bowl and the bot wakes the **** up

I said this in another thread......,the only people that support Golden are the only ones that matter. It's sad..

On the bright side, we have clarity on the situation instead of people that have a friend that heard something guy. Regardless, the BOT knows and are using the new President as a crutch to not have to fire him now and eat another year of his contract. While we don't agree with it, it isn't overly surprising. With that being said, the new President could crank up the heat on Blake James when Al fails again next year and go down with him. Golden still will have options to leave on his own and quite frankly wouldn't be surprised as he knows how much pressure is now on him and that he now is on his last straw which at one time seemed to be a free pass until 2019. Only Al knows how bad the situation is internally like Urban did in 2009 and that could be the ultimate deciding factor on what he does. The fact that Jethro Franklin wasn't mentioned in that article made me vomit in my mouth

it aint jethro really.... Its the system and the type of defense we are trying to run.... Golden and donofrio want to play a read and react bullsh*t defense and thats why the lineman look like they are playing pattycake out there. They cant use alot of rush moves because if they do they will be outside of their rush lanes and create voids in the defense. Jethro has coached in the NFL and at USC so I am pretty sure his lineman didnt look as bad as they are now....

I actually think this is one of the more positive things that could be going on right now. the Board of Trustees throwing down negativity about the coach publicly -this rarely happens.

I don't know if this is all over. I bet money that those quotes came after Blake made his statement today

I pray that we lose our bowl game- that might be the tipping point. most the coaching candidates all of you guys want unlikely to be taking other jobs anyway so will still be there.

agreed about it still being D'Onfrio's/Golden's D, however Jethro has been a DL Coach for way too long and that tells me he has potential to only ever be a #3 and that simply is not good enough. Williams is in the same boat as Jethro when it comes to never being a #2 or #1 coaching rank wise

true but I dont think franklin should be the scapegoat. It starts with Golden, donofrio and Williams and they do not even deserve to be even coaching at the University of Miami.....

He's not going anywhere. Just deal with it.

This is how I'm going to deal with it as an alumnus.

I'm not going to any more games (home or away) until he leaves. I will continue to watch them on the television but refuse to spend any money on tickets, club memberships or any other activity that financially benefits the University. My fandom runs deep so I have no choice but to feed my addiction and watch them play but I'm not going to spend any money doing so.

I don't hate Al Golden. Hate is a strong word and reserved for those that truly deserve its meaning. Al Golden's crime is that he's not a very good football coach...and for that he should be sacked. But, it's not his fault the administration extended his contract. He's not going to quit. He's not going to accept less money than what's owed to him. I wouldn't and neither would any of you that possess a scintilla of common business sense. He deserves the benefit of his bargain. You don't like the deal? Tough. Life's not fair.

The real villain is the University's administration. They need to pay the man his money and get him the **** out of here. Until then we have to suck it up and watch an inferior product.

everyone must relay their stances like this and then back it. Only way.

It's not Al's fault they extended him? Him and his agent used the investigation to force them into that.

Anyway, it's nice to see Shalala be an unaccountable piece of shlt. She creates this circuis where there's no AD with any power, a coach she gives a ridiculous contract to, and now she's "lost interest." Are you fcking kidding? Way to smear shlt all over the wall on the way out. What a lowlife.

If you had the opportunity to extend a contract, I'm sure you would do it. Golden may have asked for an extension, but it is the administration's job to calculate the risk and reward of the situation in which they clearly failed. It happens and the only thing we can hope is if something good comes out of it in the future.

Well said brother, will not attend anymore games or buy any Canes merchandise. I would rather go the UAB route than watch a slow death of a once proud program.

Wisconsin Football was crap when she was Prez there now it is our turn. She can't leave soon enough.

"Though UM president Donna Shalala --- who is retiring in a few months --- supports Golden, one trustee close to her believes that she would do something to improve the situation, perhaps by pushing Golden to change his staff, if she weren't retiring, but that she has lost some level of interest in fixing the situation in her final months."

Why is she making any decisions like that in the football program. What does she know. She is not some nfl gm. Shoot May as well put her with condelleza rice in the selection commitee.
