You all think that someone could come in an introduce a new defensive scheme under Manny? Or should I say would Manny let someone come in and run a new defense?
Not disagreeing with that.
I was more thinking of the recruiting side of it.

He runs the 4-2-5. But Manny would never hire him & honestly he probably wouldn't want to come here anyway. You all think that someone could come in an introduce a new defensive scheme under Manny? Or should I say would Manny let someone come in and run a new defense?
We run a 4-2-5 here. It’s impossible to run a defense in today’s game without a extra DB in the box to combat the spread. Manny probably won’t hire this cat. But he needs a stronger personality on that side of the ball. Baker probably knows Xs n Os but the guys don’t seem to respond to him for whatever reason. Manny was a strong personality that they were used too. It shouldn’t take the HC to take on that responsibility for one side of the ball.He runs the 4-2-5. He'll end up as an analyst on a SEC staff while getting the rest of his money on his contract.
I rather be used than having Ranny Shannon as HC.No but he’s tired of coaches using UCF as a steppingstone and Shannon will be considered. But I guess we’ll see...
Truth be told, I was just trying to tie the whole thing back to MiamiI rather be used than having Ranny Shannon as HC.
I know we run the 4-2-5, I was responding to the poster that was saying "you all think someone could come in & introduce a new defensive scheme under Manny?" I was telling him Odom does run a 4-2-5 lol.We run a 4-2-5 here. It’s impossible to run a defense in today’s game without a extra DB in the box to combat the spread. if manny is smart he addresses that this offseason.

And I agree that we definitely need a a true leader on the Defensive side of the ball for the Coaches, but I said in an earlier post I don't think Manny would ever hire Odom because he's too strong of a personality for Manny & he wouldn't want his DC to usurp his power.
Baker is his protege, he's not going to fire him at all. But I 1,000% agree that he shouldn't have been handed the DC job so quickly, he should've been brought on as a LB's coach & learned under the tutelage of Diaz for a year. He could've still held a Co-DC title in name only, but Diaz should've ran the Defense himself & just taught Baker how he wants everything to be run before he gave him full control of the Defense.
totally agree. Except for having Diaz run things on Defense. The defense can be Mannys baby per se. but he needs someone over there he can trust to run it. That’s essential. You don’t want it be a situation where it seems the players are so used to manny that they only respond or feel accountable when manny is in the room or involvedI know we run the 4-2-5, I was responding to the poster that was saying "you all think someone could come in & introduce a new defensive scheme under Manny?" Hes going to ride the missed field goals/almost won/we fought in every game card all offseason.Diaz isn’t playing the “firing card” until he knows he needs to. He can run this long valued play on the current admin bozos and gain another year of employment.
What does Manny have to do with Shannon not being good?
You think Sean Taylor wouldn’t have been a legend if Shannon didn’t coach him? Wilfork?Vilma?
Give me a break
I have multiple posts about Diaz being overrated as DC so don’t go “slurper” like a child
How has Shannon done without elite level talent?
