Barry Jackson's Latest: Mark, Blades & Soldinger

I'll say bull****. If kids are candy asses, then it's the fault of their parents and/or caretakers who have failed their kids. This generation is fighting in Middle East with thousands dead and tens of thousands maimed for life. I make this analogy to Miami football. We have had ****** coaches who have failed our players. Almost all of our players just want to be led and coached competently. I mean think about this. How do you get motivated when your strength and conditioning coach looks like a Type-2 Diabetic?

I'm sure Clemson players were texting and tweeting their way to 15-0 and their second national championship in three years.

Look, I love Donny, but he is a dinosaur. It's my way or the highway mentality. Old saying when I was flying for the Air Force. Flexibility is the key to air power. Well, for football you have to adapt to this new generation. Embrace it. This is what Diaz is doing and he is going to be very successful. Bank it.

Great post. And as far as the generational thing, the "Greatest" Generation birthed The Boomers- which I personally consider the worst generation. But these widespread generalizations are beyond flawed and your example of the recent generation(s) combat service is proof positive to those like Soldy that are painting with too broad a brush when b!itching about kids today.

Soldinger is 73 and in very good shape. It's not the physical age that trips you up, it's the age between the ears. People with experience and open to new ideas are effective at any age. Someday we will all be old and we should look at ability, not age.

his *****ing about young players is exactly why i don't want him here. as someone said earlier, adapt to the new environment and dont be stuck in your ways. we just went through that with richt

Because they played teams that actually had QBs and WRs. Put Bama or UGA in the Coastal and they would have the number 1 pass defense in the country.

LoL, nice try, you get an "E" for effort, but once again like normal, you failed, let's not worry about the coastal, just know that your boy joe burrow had more passing yards and better completion %'s against UGA and Bama, how did that happen, oh, cause it wasnt the coastal, TRY AGAIN!

Well.. do you think a certain D lineman also helped our pass D? But to your point...

I’ll take a coach who can develop a player over a coach whose strength is recruiting. The last 2 regimes here proved the importance of coaching. CFB is not what it was 20 years ago. It’s very difficult to simply out talent the opposition, they need to outcoach the opposition.

Because of the above, and as I stated previously, Im good w Rumph. (And Banda too). He develops his guys. I’d take him over just a recruiter. Anybody who thinks the key to winning a championship is nothing more than great recruiting is wrong. Players need to be developed.

Having said all that, most of rumphs room are 4+ star guys. He’s got a bunch of blue chip kids that he’s developing. And THATS the key to becoming elite. Grab the best players possible and coach them the Fvck up.

Yea of course they’ll be 3 star studs out there. The 3 star pool is exponentially larger than the 4 or 5 star pools. And the fact that you can’t seem to grasp is this.... 4 and 5 star players are far, far more likely to be successful than the 3* kid.

So you can pretend that stars don’t matter, and base that opinion on the exceptions to the rule that are out there. But your wrong. We need those blue chip kids and we need coaches to develop them.

Go and see how many so called "5 star" players played in the Superbowl vs so called "2 star" and unranked players than get back to us, im trying to keep you out the circus, but the pull must be to strong!

Weren’t special teams duties taken away from Soldinger and given to Mark Stoops because he was ******* up?

Am I misremembering that?

Does Rumph not count as a link to the past?
He was a trash ST coach, and they went to a committee of coaches to coach STs. STs immediately improved when they rescued Soldinger.

i do like our pass D, but to be fair, that was burrows first start with LSU. its natural for a player to improve as the season goes on

Soldy was always salty in language and attitude.
Players don't give a S!!t on a Coaches age.

They care about being taught technique, and how that Coach can help them to the League.
They care how each player can improve, to step up, and be noticed as part of the product for the U.

I do not think Soldy cares whether we like him or not.
His record is there, so we can listen, or take it or leave it....

Soldy could care less what we think, but he is so much Cane, that he wants us to win, and put aside the entitlement bulls***.

So many players of established programs, have no substance to back up their Star rating.
For an old dude, if we think about it, there is substance there.

The SEC isn't exactly known for pass happy offense either. Only 2 teams averaged over 300 yards and Alabama was one of them. 4 teams did average under 200 yards per game though.

Of course not, but they have MUCH better QBs and WRs than teams like the Coastal have.

LMFAO. Another moronic take by Calvin. It is hard to get a lot of yards when you start on our side of the field every drive. He had a higher QBR against us than he did against UGA or Bama. It was also his first game at LSU.

LOL, whatever reason you want to come up with, bottom line, our pass defense was top notch, and no matter what week it would've been, burrow wasnt going to do much against us, if you thinking, a big chunk of his yards came on whoever Jhavonte dean was escorting, had trajan bandy been in the game, burrow's stats would've been worst!

Ok, since you want to play games and try and deceive the board, here are the actual facts:

Against us he went 11 of 24 for 140yrds, below 50% passing

Against UGA he went 15 of 30 for 200yrds 50% passing exactly

Against Bama he went 18 of 35 for 184yrds and 1 pick above 50% percent passing

So stop trying to lie to the people, its disgraceful, especially when the facts are clear, so what was the qb ratings again, you conjurred up to lie and consistengly lie.

I didn't conjure up schit. I am talking facts. If you are really dumb enough to think Bama and UGA don't have better defenses than Miami than I got a bridge to sell you too.

Who conjured this up "He had a higher QBR against us than he did against UGA or Bama" you posted that lie, not me, his passing percentage and yards were worst against our secondary than UGA or BAMA, but somehow you said that, do you even know math or what makes up the "QBR". So now you trying to change the discussion, the duscussion was about who had the #1 pass defense in the nation, now you traveling trying to pivot to, who had the best defense in the nation talk, which pivot foot you using. And the case can easily be made that UM had the best defense in the nation when you factor in field position an offensive ineptness, but now i see what the problem is, trying to talk football to a basketball head, no wonder your points are always warped, i get it now, its not your fault!

ITs not a lie. Look at the QBR LMAO

I am not trying to pivot anything. If Bama or UGA(or a number of other teams) were in the coastal. They would have the number 1 pass defense. I get it. I am trying to talk to a moron that can't read. Not your fault!

Im trying to keep you out the circus, do yourself a favor and just stick to basketball, itll be less stressful for you. Obviously you are clueless and lack common sense. If a guy goes 11 of 24 for 140yrds and that goes 15 of 30 for 200yrds, and than goes 18 of 35 for 184yrds w-1 pick and you actually believe and are trying to tell us he had a better game against us, ROFL, keep the jokes coming!

The yearly Soldinger cry fest. Sick of hearing his old man rants.
Yet you're starving for the RBs to produce like his did. Sick of hearing YOUR crying and disrespect for the guys that made this program a juggernaut. Solly has earned the right to say whatever he dam well pleases about Miami.
