I'll say bull****. If kids are candy asses, then it's the fault of their parents and/or caretakers who have failed their kids. This generation is fighting in Middle East with thousands dead and tens of thousands maimed for life. I make this analogy to Miami football. We have had ****** coaches who have failed our players. Almost all of our players just want to be led and coached competently. I mean think about this. How do you get motivated when your strength and conditioning coach looks like a Type-2 Diabetic?

I'm sure Clemson players were texting and tweeting their way to 15-0 and their second national championship in three years.

Look, I love Donny, but he is a dinosaur. It's my way or the highway mentality. Old saying when I was flying for the Air Force. Flexibility is the key to air power. Well, for football you have to adapt to this new generation. Embrace it. This is what Diaz is doing and he is going to be very successful. Bank it.

The entire offense his last couple of years was trash. We recruited HORRIBLY.

So the year he coached the best OL in school history doesn't count, huh? Or his ring as a player?

One thing about soldy tho... the man had a helluva lotta talent to work with in his backfields, and those backs had hella talented lines in front of them. None of our recent coaches has been blessed with that kind of stable.

Whether you agree with me or not is irrelevant, i know WTF im talking about, you rely on nerd recruiting sites. Now you want to minimize the work coach soldinger and coach kehoe did, by basically saying it was mostly the talent, you're just confused. Its like i said when coach kehoe came back, watch how many long runs our backs start getting, didnt take long, how many seasoned 1st round picks was edgerrin james running behind. You seen the ultimate soldinger affect the year TYRONE MOSS balled out before V-Tech jacked that MAN's knee up. Stop being all over the place with your UM Athoughts!

That’s completely false.

The QBs and skill players we had in ‘11, ‘12, ‘13, ‘14 and ‘15 were more than good enough.

Jacory, Lamar, Streeter, Hurns, Dorsett, Duke, Walford, Morris, Kaaya, Coley, Njoku, Walton.

Ok, here you go again, trying to justify your nerd guided recruiting sites, so let's use your logic, so according to you, there is no way we should've had the #1 pass defense in the nation, cause #28 and redwine were both "3 star recruits# in the meantime, Bama and UGA both have "4 and 5 star recruits" in their secondaries so how come they werent ranked ahead of our pass defense! So like you said about coach kehoe and soldinger, so it is with coach rumph, its not them its the talent, lol, you sir are comical! None of our db's from corn elder on up played at that high a level until coach rumph and coach banda got here and you silly enuff to believe your own post, lol!

Because they played teams that actually had QBs and WRs. Put Bama or UGA in the Coastal and they would have the number 1 pass defense in the country.

Well.. do you think a certain D lineman also helped our pass D? But to your point...

I’ll take a coach who can develop a player over a coach whose strength is recruiting. The last 2 regimes here proved the importance of coaching. CFB is not what it was 20 years ago. It’s very difficult to simply out talent the opposition, they need to outcoach the opposition.

Because of the above, and as I stated previously, Im good w Rumph. (And Banda too). He develops his guys. I’d take him over just a recruiter. Anybody who thinks the key to winning a championship is nothing more than great recruiting is wrong. Players need to be developed.

Having said all that, most of rumphs room are 4+ star guys. He’s got a bunch of blue chip kids that he’s developing. And THATS the key to becoming elite. Grab the best players possible and coach them the Fvck up.

Yea of course they’ll be 3 star studs out there. The 3 star pool is exponentially larger than the 4 or 5 star pools. And the fact that you can’t seem to grasp is this.... 4 and 5 star players are far, far more likely to be successful than the 3* kid.

So you can pretend that stars don’t matter, and base that opinion on the exceptions to the rule that are out there. But your wrong. We need those blue chip kids and we need coaches to develop them.

That list of superstars you speak of did not arrive at Miami as superstars, that was Soldinger in their *** everyday all day about being
great, on the field, in the weight room, and in the locker room. All that Miami swagger you love to lay claim to came from a lot of hard work
and preparation that allowed Miami to dominate back then. To date, Manny Diaz has talked a great game, growing up a Miami fan may
means you heard of the Miami swagger, but bottom line, he's never coached it, Soldinger has, and he's 100 % right about the entitlement
and the social media crap, none of that going to win you a championship.

Clearly an incredible coach who turned a bunch of scrubs into superstar running backs must have gotten another job after getting fired from Miami. I mean a coach of his incredible caliber has probably led multiple teams to national championships by now.

The SEC isn't exactly known for pass happy offense either. Only 2 teams averaged over 300 yards and Alabama was one of them. 4 teams did average under 200 yards per game though.
 
My cable provider in Maryland already has the ACC network set up to begin next August.

Don't pro coaches invite college coaches in to observe their OTAs, camps, etc.? Or, do I have have that wrong? If possible, why wouldn't Diaz/Enos go spend time with Belichick, the Dolphins, or whatever pro team possible. Gotta believe it could only help!

Soldinger is 73 and in very good shape. It's not the physical age that trips you up, it's the age between the ears. People with experience and open to new ideas are effective at any age. Someday we will all be old and we should look at ability, not age.
