FIFYMario could regain a lot of goodwill if tomorrow he called a press conference and announced:
"I will be taking 1 million dollars a year on my contract and putting the rest into recruiting the best talent on the field"
Syracuse will be a good game for that. No reason to not get everyone involved and get the team hyped back up.
he could be smart and hire a seasoned assistant coach, who can help him manage games and TO's etc and keep HC role. he could also hire a top notch OC and stay out of his way. the results at the moment are frustrating, question can Mario change as what he is doing is not working 4 W's 17 L's in Nov/DEcI’m not opposed to him taking on a role like this but is he even open to it? Also, how many more seasons do we have to bear before this is even a possibility?
Also I have no idea how much autonomy he currently gives his coordinators, who knows how much autonomy he would even give the whole program if he was CEO. This could be a worse scenario if he is a control freak.
would agree but remember these guys on the team are playing for the NFLRespectfully, the team is lost. It's the NIL era. With nothing else left to play for, playing for pride isn't a thing.
The 1980s called (which was a glorious time to be alive due to my Hurricanes/Islanders) and want you to know they miss "Well, they get a scholarship!" too. The court judgments assure that, just like they assure eventually astronomical HC salaries and stupid play lands for players (Dabo slide anyone?) is never coming back from the turn of century. It's now NIL and the gratification of making life better for the people who raised you on $25-30K and needed assistance as soon as possible is a strong pull; while there are exceptions (Mahomes/Manziel comes to mind), the "I have to make it the NFL to get big $$$" is over for highly rated kids out of HS or in the transfer portal. The finances are important, they are just misallocated. Making guys like Mario near three digit multimillionaires is not the way...'Nor is making Jimmy Sexton/CAA Billion dollar entities! The Jimmy and Joe's, not the HC and staff are the key.The financial backing is not as important as you all make it out to be. Do you think Virginia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke, SMU, and Pitt all have more money invested? Because they all have better ACC records. Their is no if at this point. He failed as hard as possible last year and this year we already threw in the towel to start November. This whole money fallacy started as a way to separate Manny and Mario, but the only stat that matters is wins and they are identical.

and tape don;t lie......
i can name 5 coaches that would make the playoffs with Mario's team right nowIf Mario can’t win here with all this money idk if anyone can
correct but walking out to play and not going full bore is a recipe for injury as well part of NIL is finding talent but the other intangibles that recent teams do not seem to haveNeither will a late season injury.
sooo...They're both cluelessDefinitely have issues with Mario & can’t stomach last game, but Barry Jackson is a clueless clown.
Only 5?i can name 5 coaches that would make the playoffs with Mario's team right now
Yep. Players take on the persona of their head coaches. The culture being established is not one of confidence, fearlessness, and discipline. Mario exudes none of these things.Mario is a problem, but IMO play calling is not near our biggest problem. The problem is we play extremely tight and that is passed from the coach to his staff and to the players, this is what creates the perceived lack of discipline. What it really creates is the failure to execute. There is nothing that I see that can fix this without getting a new HC.
You mean quit "again", because they quit vs smu.Once the players quit on him, he won’t last more than a couple of months.
I could name more, but he was basically like "If Mario cant win at Miami, no one can" so I just said 5 being nice.Only 5?
No ****. What team will be here when he’s fired for the next coach loli can name 5 coaches that would make the playoffs with Mario's team right now
So what coach would come here after Mario is fired? Would love to know who u think would actually take this jobI could name more, but he was basically like "If Mario cant win at Miami, no one can" so I just said 5 being nice.
