It's such a tiresome narrative. If you want honesty then give manny, kul & jess plenty of credit for that success as well if not more. Hes not a liability but hes not a key to our team either.
Why give kul or jess credit when diaz defenses at la tech and middle tennessee had a lot of tfls and sacks too.

Huh? #1 in mannys scheme the line is the most pivotal part. It's in large part the backers who get those tackles but in general the front 7 as a whole is very disruptive and flashes alot. But if the line didnt draw so much attention it would be impossible to free up anyone else. Dont know who his dline coaches were at any other spot. But who's to say they didnt deserve credit as well. Manny and his scheme deserved a ton of that credit too obviously. #2 the point wasn't who should get the credit it was simply to say look how great banda must be because look at the safety play, wasn't exactly accurate. Alot more goes into that. It is a team game and if any unit lacks it affects the unit itself. Coin works on the other side as well.

To me it's not amazing. We both know what a special dude he is and I'll always love him. He did the job he was assigned to because he is very detail oriented. No reason to have a safety and corner coach independent of each other assuming one is competent. It's like what don did with running backs and special teams. It was just having pride in your job. We need people around the program again who instill that pride in our day to day.

Yessir...

If we had gotten Fields and Perry, Williams, or both bolted like Tate did, this board would've roasted him. Since he came here, it's like they all forgot that and got googly eyed at his high school ranking.

I have nothing against Tate. He made HIS decision, it's his life, but he ran the first sign of OSU's monster prospect coming on board. Nobody here, there, or anywhere can deny that. Hope it works out for him as that'll mean it worked out for us. It doesn't have to be this year or even the next for it to and should it take time, hopefully the fanbase will allow it to.

OSU guaranteed Fields that he would start, or Fields wouldn't have gone to OSU. Tate had no choice.

For reasons Diaz deems reasonable he likes to split up responsibilities in the secondary. He did it at Miss. State and he's doing at Miami. What pride in the day to day has to do with it I have no idea but whether Rumph or Banda is competent is not a determining factor in how Diaz likes his secondary coached. If two different coaches were back there the duties would still be split up.

There is no garauntee in anything and coaches don't say that crap. That **** is just dumb stuff that fans toss around.

Considering who Fields is and what OSU had coming back, there wasn't a need for a garauntee. He was the big odds on favorite to win the starting role.

Tate had a choice, he chose not to compete. I can't say what I would've done in his shoes and from the outside looking in, he made a smart choice for him. No question about it, he ran though.

Guess we'll see what happens with him here. He didn't walk into the easiest position he could've and knowing he had two unproven but highly regarded prospects to work against, one cannot say he's completely afraid of competition. He just didn't want any of Fields, doubt many would.

What im saying is the d-lines did the same for him at la tech and middle tenn and he didnt have kool or jess.

Coaches do tell players that shît all the time. Fields didn't go to osu to compete. He went because he was told he was the guy. Martell knew that and he left. Why would martell not be willing to compete there but is willing to come to miami and compete with 2 guys?

One didn't look that great last year, albeit a different system, and the other didn't really get looks. Neither of them are any where near the prospect Fields was coming out of high school. Tate knows all of that as does everyone who follows college football.

It's already been said that Tate's lawyer basically proved this as a big reason he was granted eligibility. Also, Fields ran from Frohm.

He did choose to compete, just not against Fields. There isn't one QB in the NATION that would compete against Fields unless they were the returning starter.

Tate is a was a 4 star QB and left to compete with other 4 star QBs that are in his class or the class after him. How many other transfers at QB did that in 2019?

No reason to waste your eligibility sitting behind a potential top 3 QB in 2019 who OSU showed favoritism to from day one.

A lawyer who never lied. I'm sure that someone admitted that Fields was promised the job while everyone else was given their seat assignment on the bench. Nobody had to promise anything to Fields, on paper at least, he was the most talented QB they would have on the roster.

Great job by his attorney though if that was in fact the "sell" to get him immediate eligibility. He did his job and the writing was on the wall the moment they landed Fields.
