I respect a lot that you post on this board, but I have to disagree with you on this. Kid would have plenty of options. This board has blown his “off field issues” out of proportion.

His offfield issues, (aside from not showing the leadership demanded of the position) don't bother me as bad as the fact he had two years to beat out a guy that was told he'd never start at the U, yet never took it serious enough to even have the command of a simple playbook. Sure he may find a place but nothing of a similar level to Miami.

I think Perry felt he deserved the full time job over Rosier and I think if he had started every game he would've settled in and improved. The way Mark used the two was insane plus Williams was gone until the coaching change and his not seeing the field at all last year was criminal. I don't think any of them leave as long as they feel they are respected and given a legitimate shot.

Love this from Banda:

"He said on Hurricane Hotline that Gurvan Hall, Amari Carter, Derrick Smith and Robert Knowles “are big and physical guys. But I need their brains to be big and their mental side to match what they look like. What I want to be when we walk out there in Orlando [against UF] is have mental giants, as big as they are, I want their brains to be as dominant and big and physical. This isn’t checkers; it’s chess.”

I personally don't think Perry will transfer anywhere. He won't leave unless he is told he won't ever see the field. Or is asked to leave. Where is he going?

Perry did himself very pubic damage last year with his off field issues. Made himself a big risk. And if he doesn't win the job after having it briefly, who will want him?

Just my 2 cents.
There will be plenty of options, regardless of how prestigious some will be.

3 years of eligibility left, we’ll see what kind of individual/player he develops into. I think it’s too early for people to write the kid off

I disagree. I think they have someone in mind. Don’t want to name anyone ahead and risk a transfer now.
I don't think it matters even if there is a pecking order after a handful of practices. What matters will be the scrimmages that will determine whose the frontrunner.

I don't think he's done that kind of damage. Schools like WVU, Louisville, FAU, and many others make a living giving kids a home.

Hes not struggling here...stop it....
the reports all last week were he is not accurate cmon now don’t act like you didn’t see them now this week the reports are he’s looking more comfortable and throwing better. That’s not struggling? .... we roast Williams and Perry for the same thing

Those of us that were saying it would be a three-man race into the summer aren’t sounding so crazy now, are we?
Agreed.

I listened to the 5 rings podcast the other day. Ivin's/Lake, from 247, were the guest of honor (disgrace). When they talked about the QB race, the two of them literally did not even mention Perry. I'm paraphrasing, but they both agreed that Enos/Diaz has to make a tough decision regarding whether to cater the offense towards Martell, in order accommodate for his running ability, or to design it towards Williams skill set. Perry was not even mentioned by either of them.

It's as if they are completely and purposely ignoring what is coming directly out of Enos/Diaz mouth, just so they can keep the narrative going that plays to their subscribers. It's that type of biased reporting that causes a split fan base.

I don’t understand how fans think Tate is the savior .... he ran from comp @ O state and he’s struggling here. O state didn’t seemed bothered at all that he left. The media and fans seem to purposely **** on our QBs that were on the rooster from last yr.

If we had gotten Fields and Perry, Williams, or both bolted like Tate did, this board would've roasted him. Since he came here, it's like they all forgot that and got googly eyed at his high school ranking.

I have nothing against Tate. He made HIS decision, it's his life, but he ran the first sign of OSU's monster prospect coming on board. Nobody here, there, or anywhere can deny that. Hope it works out for him as that'll mean it worked out for us. It doesn't have to be this year or even the next for it to and should it take time, hopefully the fanbase will allow it to.

He’s apparently been doing better recently and what should be noted early on in camp, martell hasn’t had much experience throwing to those guys in a practice setting(unlike Perry and Williams who had them in 2018) so I’m sure that took an adjustment in addition to enos tweaking his throwing posture and motion. And it’s more of started off slow early on and is picking it up rather than struggling actually

Couldn’t agree more.

I have to be honest though, these types of shows, podcasts whatever, are really no better than us shlubs that post here. Seriously, what do these guys have in terms of a knowledge base that makes them more qualified than what you or I think?

I think Perry has much of a chance as anybody. Sure he made some dumbo mistakes last year, but it’s not like he tried to run from cops or anything, like somebody else that won a Heisman Trophy. But some people on here have just completely written him off.

Makes no sense. Based on arm talent alone, you want him in there competing and may the best man win

Same thing crossed my mind when I read that.
Banda is mannys version of no d... atleast he can recruit unlike that dipsit moron dnofrio. I just thank God we didnt end up having to play one solitary down of football with him at dc. I understand the necessity of recruiting but we really gotta learn not to put FAR too much value into their position on the staff. If it was up to half of our fan base we'd have alf at DC and cooney as our wr coach/oc... fml

Ok so what about him running from the competition ? This is the same thing that fans of Miami love to push when it comes to our own players..... and as far as what the other QBs had last yr everyone blames CMR for having a bad offensive scheme but doesn’t want to give the QBs a restart
