Barry J. article on ER 20 1/31/20

I find it hilarious how everyone has been ten miles up Diaz' *** and when former players say the same thing y'all eat it up. Diaz talked about the culture problem when he was named HC. He's also, repeatedly, emphasized "getting players that WANT to be Miami Hurricanes," and talked consistently about what that looks like.

This class has a little look of what we need: mostly long-time commits who are all early enrollees.

It works if the staff can identify the right character in players and Reed can help implement the mentality.

The difference is, ed reed is certified and qualified to talk about it publicly, coach diaz beeing a 1st time headcoach is not because once he started acting upon "TNM" mantra in order to justify bringing in and starting quitters, he lost all credibility with alot of the team. Going on public record trying to justify why transfer tate was betting into games over other players is part of the culture problem. Coach diaz saying they have "special packages" for transfer tate, and nothing special for the players already their like deejay dallas or pope was part of the culture problem. Coach diaz, starting a known quitter in jw15 and waffler at qb over perry was definitely a move that lost some of the team. Coach diaz tracking jt4 down instead of redshirting em this year as a ground rule for him to be able to comeback is part of the culture problem, we still went 6 & 7 with him,and enos already definitely didnt use em properly. What a 6 & 7 1st season headcoach needs to do is STFU and learn how to be a headcoach, otherwise a non-established headcoach saying that means he's making excuses and is already playing the blame game.

You sound like the type of person that will be bashing Ed Reed next year if we don't win 12 games.

No need to bash ed, he's certified and will make a difference, how you came up to your conclusion is perplexing!

So if Ed Reed says there is a culture problem, he is right because he is "certified". If Manny Diaz says there is a culture problem, he is a clown since he isn't "certified". Do I have that right?

Randy Shannon is a 'Cane and the whole fanbase bashes him. Mike Rumph is a Cane and half the fanbase bashes him. Mark Richt is a Cane and the fanbase bashes him.

How are you perplexed by that?

If you want to categorize it as such have at it, but if you cant see that coach diaz, as a 1st time, non-established headcoach, at 6 & 7, with no history of winning, complaining about a culture problem publicly is not a smart move on his part, coach diaz statements about "the culture" is just as valid as his statements about the "great week of practices" and "best practice all year" statements before the Central Michigan, duke, F.i.u. and Loisianna Tech losses. Which is why he needs to STFU, especially since he's been a major contributor to the culture problem. He's the headcoach now, saying their is anything wrong with a team he's in charge of now is foolish on his part when he has to be the one to set or reset the culture. This guy had a losing season with a more veteran team than the year before on offense. So its better for him to 1st even prove he can even be a headcoach, than to run his mouth cause at the end of the day, if he's not successful or show signs of being succesful, that reason/excuse wont help him keep his job.

Its actually comical, cause him and flake james thought it was as simple as hiring a few new offensive coaches, im sure at 6 & 7 he can clearly see it wasnt what they thought it was. Coach richt leaving was similar to dumb *** jerry jones getting on jimmy johnson's nerves, some ****'s dont know how to stay outta of the way of success!

This is what people who use “culture” as an excuse for the poor performance Diaz and previous coaches don’t get.

You’re not as good as your best players or as bad as your worst. It’s the ones in the middle that go with the flow of where they are lead that show whether you have a leader that has what it takes to control a team.
I think we are as bad as our worst. We lost to FIU.

FIU took away the quick slant and the offense was lost. Enos forced the pass against one of the nation’s worst run defenses.

Never underestimate the abysmal depths terrible coaching can sink a team to.

Dan Enos benefited from being on Alabama & Nick Saban's sidelines; Arkansas offenses depended on a strong running game.

Also Manny interviewed for the Temple gig, while Mark Richt did't retire at that point; And not making any comparisons, plus the fact the NCAA and NFL have completely different roster restrictions / rules. The powerhouse colleges every year might as well have upwards of 10 first rounders, if going by the 247 star rankings, plus the 4 stars who miss the extra "Star" by a fraction of a number.

Bill Belichick was the defensive strategist when Parcell was the head coach of the giants. The media forgets to show how Belichick resume with the browns was below average compared to now; Manny chose to interview for Temples job - which is not a "Power Five School."

Diaz gets flak because he was riding around yacht's and crashing coaching clinics before he even coached the game. And he sold Blake James on this being a quick turnaround.

Then to cite culture when he was around the prior 3 years was a total ***** move. That's why he gets the heat that he does.
