I find it hilarious how everyone has been ten miles up Diaz' *** and when former players say the same thing y'all eat it up. Diaz talked about the culture problem when he was named HC. He's also, repeatedly, emphasized "getting players that WANT to be Miami Hurricanes," and talked consistently about what that looks like.

This class has a little look of what we need: mostly long-time commits who are all early enrollees.

It works if the staff can identify the right character in players and Reed can help implement the mentality.

Diaz has spent his entire UM career being buddy with his players, making jewelry and teaching dance classes he’s the culture issue.

Diaz became a prisoner of the moment. We were close to winning all of those lost games in the regular season. I think that led him to let things slide, assuming that if we lost key contributors, we'd lose games. Understandable thoughts when you believe the team is right there, about to have a great season. The problem with that is you enable bad culture. Now he's a step behind trying to turn it around this year, although I do think he's learned his lesson

I think the problem with 2019 was if Diaz suspended every player for breaking team rules-- he would have had 1/2 a locker room of players...

So basically the locker room needs a few Alphas who are willing to knock anybody out if they don't do their job. Sounds like what we've been missing.

Yeah I don’t see any Nate Webster choke a teammate in the locker room type of dudes nowadays to hold others accountable. We need that type of ruggedness.

When you are allowing kids like suitcase to threaten to walk every time he didn’t get his way then allow them to not only come back but to start you lose the players respect.
Every time you allow a kid like JT to walk away from the team numerous times threatening to transfer and then allow him to Not only come back but to start you lose the players respect.
When you allow a kid like Martell to walk away from the team then allow him back without repercussions you lose the players respect.

Yes you need team leaders but leadership starts at the top with the HC and when your team sees that players can come and go as they please and see that pitching a fit like a 6 yr old and not hard work gets you playing time you lose the players respect.

Respect is earned.Manny needs to learn that he isn’t their best friend and needs to show the team that he will hold players that don’t do the right things to become successful accountable and make that accountability mandatory for playing time.

I’m hoping Manny has learned this and that the new guys he brought in will help in this.If not we will continue to have a team full of me first Prima Dona’s and we can only hope that the next guy brings that discipline.

I don’t buy into that. 3 losses after the bye week tells us that even after seeing the results of letting players run wild, he still let it go.

I think you are dead on. Remember the stories we heard about when they had brawls in the locker room. All the players would start whooping and they knew a beat down was coming, same thing we heard about when we played Florida in the sugar bowl and all the players were doing the whoop whoop whoop chant and they all knew that they were about to beat the Florida players asses. Those teams were led by straight dogs and losing wasn't an option.

Until proven otherwise, Manny is part of the culture issue. From all accounts he had the defense blaming the offense for everything, not too mention backing it all up by keeping his side and firing CMR’s offensive staff.

All we can hope for is Lashlee bringing the fire back on the offensive side and making it fun. That’s what’s gonna turn this team around, even if it is in spite of Manny.

He brought back Jeff Thomas after quitting on the team. He let Jarren Williams play after supposedly being disciplined. Him not enforcing rules all throughout the season is on him. Diaz can say the same **** but if he’s not going pit his money where his mouth is then it’s just horse **** coming out.

Even if someone thinks a coach is past his prime, or not right for the current job, how does anyone call any of those 3 guys “losers”???

Wrong. I’ve been up Diaz’s *** 11 miles. And for only one reason: he doesn’t get it about being a HC. Will he now? Perhaps. I’ll wait and see.

DeeJay said Quarterman had the defense in check. I'm assuming McCloud was redshirted to have that leader in 2020. King is more of a lead by example guy. Need Cam to step up and be the leader in the locker room.
