The portal is not an automatic answer to all the depth woes that we have had for 10 years. There are no guaranteed replacements waiting just to jump in. We cannot depend on "portal up replacements".

We also can't cry every time we suspect a player is going to transfer. We've played politics for too long with some players.

Yep. You don't have to go too far back to see that. Our defense had a bunch of jags according to some, after Donofrio/Alf left. And next year, they were performing much better. Go figure.
