No, actually I want him to succeed since hes our starter, and I doubt Richt makes any change. I'll be hoping he plays every game like he did vs Syracuse. But thats all that is - hope. Realistically I just don't think he can. I think he's at or near his ceiling, which is an inconsistent and inaccurate passer, who makes a lot of wrong reads. I absolutely wanted (and still want) one of the Freshman to take his spot, and don't think they were given a real opportunity to do so in the spring and summer camps. I just don't see how anyone can watch last season of a 4th year player and act like he played great, just because we won 10 games. Sure he played great for a total of like 4mins vs FSU and vs the complete trash cupcake teams, including Syracuse. but what else? He ran well vs VTech, but I haven't been saying his running ability was bad. I've been saying his throwing ability is bad. If anyone can honestly say FSU, VTech, ND, Clemson, Wisconsin he was anything but plain bad, I'd love to hear the argument. Plus UNC and Pitt he got benched.
I get being hopeful he took this huge step forward, and I do hope that, but honestly I don't expect that to happen. I think its more realistic that Rosier marginally improves but drags us down from being the CFP contender that we have the talent to be. If our OLine plays above average, I think we're going undefeated, even with Rosier. The thing is I think we can go undefeated with Rosier or any of the 3 freshman at QB. So imo it absolutely makes more sense to start one of the freshman, then hope they improve enough by the end of the season that we can beat Clemson and win the ACC at the end of the year, instead of getting blown out like we did last yr.
