Banner

I don't believe that these banners do much (although last week's banner clearly got to AG for a few seconds) but I think we can all agree that the "c'mon, fire Al Golden these banners are expensive" was absolutely hysterical. Very creative and LOL worthy.

That banner was great. If Al has any balls at all, he would acknowledge that one with "Hey, at least they are getting creative" or "Good, I am hurting their pockets1" Something to throw some humor at it instead of that "I don't notice the noise". Show some humor and I at least will get off him for a week.

It's not like Butch was the architect of the greatest team of all time.

Oh, wait. He was. If a kid is looking to play college ball, he'll know who Butch Davis is.

Not to mention the fact that he's been all over TV the past couple of years as an analyst.

The banners should be flying but for a different reason.
The biggest problem at the University of Miami right now is Blake James.
We could not have a more [not the]incompetent[ real issue] weak athletic director right now. We are in serious trouble right now with that putz running the ship with full autonomy.
Texas flew banners to fire their AD....not Charlie Strong. It worked.

Dude...please do a Blake James banner.
He is the problem....not Golden.

While I agree that the banner should now evolve with James Blake a new target, it is for a different reason and furthermore he also shall not be targeted alone.

The UM BOT names [and UM Admin (dag, Shalala is gone) forget Admin for now], that is last names, shall be on the banner as well. After all, haven't they been the real decisions-makers in our last 3 previous coaching hires? The banner can not avoid to put them on blast! This is particularly so since they are the real perpetrators of UM's decline for much of this millennium.

The issue with James Blake is not just that he may be incompetent, it is that he was never hired/promoted to be an actual AD with real decision making powers. He was hired as AD solely to be to be an AD's PR mouthpiece -- this role is sometimes served by an Asst AD -- and in order that the UM BOT & UM Admin not hire an actual outside Director of Athletics. I wouldn't target Blake if UM would retain Blake and hire Butch Davis. Indeed, not only did Butch amass the best players and subsequently the best Football team on the collegiate planet, he was also the architect of forming the best coaches at any one time on a Football team. But since these inept decision-makers likely are considering more coaches than Butch, then we would need a real Athletic Director with real experience to select the next coach. With selecting Butch as the next Head Coach for UM a totally uncertain development, it is absolutely not worth it to avoid targeting James Blake. Target James!

The new prospective AD must have the knowledge to recognize that we will need to hire a great coach that is experienced in winning big Football games, and experienced in overcoming big moments in the biggest stages of college Football, and or in the stages of the NFL. Once any AD recognizes that we can't afford to take more chances with the up and comers and or with the program builder type of coaches, the AD has got to have the experience to know where to call and the people who consist of the coaches that can take our UM players to the next level: Championship Coaching*

*Championship Coaching: I say Championship Coaching because I feel the athletes we have here for next year already form a nucleus for a Championship run, including Kaaya [particularly once Brad masters throwing on the run when flushed out of the pocket or if we're lucky to develop or get him All-world OLs that can give Brad all the time he needs to not be flushed out of his comfort zone], along with those S. Fla athletes that are bound to come here. Altogether, they will already be Championship caliber athletes that can win it all with Championship-caliber Coaching. A caliber of coaching that Butch Davis can easily amass, as can clearly be seen with his coaching tree. Or, the new real AD can convince UM honchos to spend the big bucks [good luck with that] to go out and get UM such coaching hire.

Yeah this is a "what have you done for me now" era. It's stupid to think if Davis comes in recruits will drop everything and commit. Saban, Meyer, Fisher all hold more weight than Davis. Why?? Because they've won recently.

Yeah I think the banners are getting played out but that one was hilarious. At least the banner is way better then the morons telling me and everyone not to go to games and cheer against Miami. **** that. I'm a fan. I will never want another to score against Miami or beat Miami. I don't enjoy losing. Being glad your team lost is a ***** boy mentality

If you grant that this roster could maybe make it to the ACC title game, then you'd have to concede that with Championship caliber coaching, they can also win it....which makes the roster ACC Championship caliber this year. Not hard to extrapolate that this roster next year, plus swag16, can compete for one round in the playoffs with Butch and the caliber of coaches he'd bring in to coach our players up.

FSU fans have started a crowd-sourced banner campaign to KEEP Al Golden in Miami.

https://www.gofundme.com/kn4j3nzc

Tells you all you need to know about the state of affairs and the (earned) lack of respect we get from opponents.

Will this ruffle the BOT's feathers more than our own banners if this thing actually flies?

Does the BOT know who FSU is?

Realistically we will be 4-0 heading into the FSU game. And I know just how bad of a coach Golden is, but FSU has been playing like absolute ****, and I actually think we could be looking at starting the season 5-0. If this happens we are incredibly ****ed. We would look absolutely retarded as fans if we are 5-0, beat Nebraska and FSU, and are still flying signs over the stadium calling for his head.

So if we are 5-0, we'd need a banner like, "ACC and Orange Bowl Champs or GTFO" or something along those lines. We would really have to die down all the Golden hate until he loses 3 games or so. This is such a ****** year to determine if he will be fired, because it's so **** easy to get 9-10 wins. I think with a decent-good coach this year, we could realistically finish with only 1 loss to Clemson, because the ACC isn't too good. Just get ready to start off the season with a few more wins and how that is going to affect whether we keep him, because currently its not looking so good for us, and our chances of him being fired.

Yes but if we have that type of season, Golden will probably leave. He knows this place is toxic for him

Right on both counts. And, "ACC and Orange Bowl Champs or [BUST]" is contained within MAKE MIAMI GREAT AGAIN -- BUTCH DAVIS 2016
