Bandas comment that bothers me

I’m saying Banda is contributing to getting some of these kids here but Rumph is doing more with teaching them.

Again you’re ****ed at Banda for knowles playing but giving rumph credit for the development of all the rest.

It’s totally contradictory.

I’m ****ed at whoever decides who’s playing for Knowles that’s on Manny. He’s the head coach and Knowles played well first 2 games but last 2 not so much.

I am not arguing if it makes sense or not, I’m not sure anyone is.

I strongly believe that there are certain things Manny Diaz and his defensive coaches won’t compromise on (Diaz has hinted at this blatantly in interviews about his Texas days). I think he firmly believes in having guys who are alpha dogs beating the **** out of each other to get on the field. This team benched (or didn’t let him start) Gurvan “Nick Saban visited me with a helicopter” Hall for Robert Knowles who’s biggest attributes are experience and tackling. Robert Knowles might be slower than some of the linebackers.

CJ Henderson might be the best cover man in all of football. That doesn’t change the fact that CJ Henderson wakes up every morning and ****es himself when he sees his shadow. Diaz and his staff right or wrong put a huge emphasis on measuring guys in practice, always competing, and tackling. Henderson almost definitely half-asses tackling and taking on blocks in practice. He would either learn to play physically or he wouldn’t hit the field is how I see it.

How would a cornerback like that ever hit the field for Miami outside of injuries to starters?

How would that fit into a culture of supposed “dawgs” and “competitors” when a guy would be allowed to never compete and be gifted a starting role on a defense predicated on physicality and creating havoc?

Who was the last tissue paper soft player Manny Diaz played on defense?
A lot of what you said is sensible and true but considering that CJ plays the CB position the points you made are somewhat moot. It's not a necessity for a CB to be a sure tackler. When was the last a CB got paid in the NFL for being a sure-tackler? Quick answer, never. Their primary job is to cover WR's. As long as the CB is willing to tackle, makes an effort to tackle, and displays some level of toughness then it's suffice for the position.

CB's also don't get that much action in games to tackle. CJ also hasn't had problems bringing down WR's, he's struggled tackling RB's, a problem that is shared among many CB's nationally.

I think we're seeing how Trajan plays the game. Trajan's ability to tackle is the exception. Corn Elder was the exception. Adrian Colbert was the exception. We've been lucky to have tackling CB's. The CB across from CJ, Marco Wilson, is an exception.

Hall is playing suprisingly timid compared to his hs film. He has great natural instincts, just needs to trust them and play confident.

Banda is retarded. If we dont see bolden getting bulk of snaps... thats a fail on staff

Mr Reed AKA " Don't ask me how I am! I'm hurt dog!!!! " is too MIAMI for Diaz and his defensive coordinator. The first thing Ed Reed would do is, INSTILL SOME NASTINESS in the defensive players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He would also be seen as a threat to some on staff as he probably has more football knowledge than half these idiots, not to mention he'd kill it on the recruiting trail

Poor tackling gets you beat more than anything else. Has OP forgotten the UF game already? 1 big play to Toney was all they needed to squeak that one out.

I don't like Banda and I've said that for years though, so whatever.

He also praised Bubba Bolden on being athletic, being in the right place at right time, giving full energy but if Bubba doesn’t tackle he’s not going to play. I GET IT but under this theory players like Deion Sanders or CJ Henderson wouldn’t play (I know they are corners).

Seems stupid
Your safeties have to tackle. Like its in the name... safety. Theres no one else after them

Hall is getting better game by game. It will continue to slow down for him

Bout to search the Bartender's tweets to see if said any racist or homophobic things. Hopefully he did so the woke crew can expose him and Manny has no choice but to fire him.

Lol at dudes contorting to give Isaac credit for “developing” Jenkins and Colbert.

First, Colbert played CB here. Second, Jenkins was here for 4 years before Isaac got here and was always a good player and athlete. He was just stuck in a **** scheme.

And Jaquan was born a bad ***. He was always destined to be a great player. What did Isaac do for him that anyone else couldn’t have done better?

https://theathletic.com/1263394/201...fley-ohio-state-defense-tackling-improvement/

"One big reason is Ohio State is doing something most other teams are having a harder and harder time with: tackling. Coaches all over the country have lamented their inability to tackle as well as they used to because health and safety concerns have forced practice and drill schedules to change. The Buckeyes, though, are tackling better than they have in years. Hafley’s standard has not changed. On the team goals board, they work to have fewer than six or seven missed tackles a game. "

Tackling is a Huge Issue throughout P5 Schools. I think Banda knows whether Hall, Knowles can cover but the Safety's are the last line on the Defense and they better know How to Tackle or it's a Score

Am I overreacting?

Banda in interview today when discussing the progression of Hall and saying first couple games it’s what he expected (a lot of running around not knowing what he’s doing) and Knowles over took him because of how well he tackled. Banda than said speaking about Hall progressing is he got better at “The Only Thing I Care about, which is tackling”.

Just seemed like an odd comment, while tackling in open space is obviously important what about coverage?

Herbstriet has attributed OSU's tackling resurgence to more zone defense.

Keeps the defense's eyes on the ball rather than following a receiver around.

So Rumph is more responsable for the development of Redwine than Banda?

Rumph actually coached him and couldn’t do anything with him... According to BrooklynDee , Redwine was so bad that Banda lost a coin flip to Rumph had to coach him ..

And our CBs have taken a huge step back this year too. Tackling has been a big issue, getting off blocks has been garbage and they were getting torched by those UNC WRs

@dsddcane has also said our Safety’s go to Rumph more than Banda.

Banda seems like a nice guy but has amateur written all over him. He belongs in a smaller tier program.

I agree, but that UF game and Toney play is still fresh in his mind I'm sure.[/QUOTE]
