Don’t let facts get in the way of a good blind defense of Baker and Manny. Objective fans know we are delaying the inevitable with this staff. Trolls want us to continue being mediocre.

Typical troll laughing response with zero substance. The reality is trolls want us to remain mediocre with first time head coaches, while real fans want change with real coaches to take us to the next level. Your logic needs a reality check, but I expect no less from you.

The RPO read where our safety gives the receiver a 15 yard cushion is like taking candy from a baby. The RPO sucks the striker up and it is an easy 7-10 completion every single time. How these coaches turn on the film and continue to go back to this look is mind boggling. How is diaz allowing this week after week.

Agree. But we are also among the leaders in drive crippling TFLs and 3rd down defense. Since Manny arrived we've always been a higher risk-higher reward on that side of the ball.

I guess we'll see if it's sustainable when we face UNC and VT.

Sustainable? Did you wake up and forget last season? Oh, you’re one of those who says it doesn’t matter with the same set of coaches? Manny and his D have been here for 5 seasons now.
 
Purely my opinion, but...
Baker's going nowhere this season. The only one that stands a chance of being replaced is Rumph.

If Baker is calling the plays I dont see how he is running Manny's defense. There is a big difference between running a style of defense and effectively executing under that style. I dont know too many defensive coordinators who were stripped of their play calling duties for a few games (last year) to gain a so called better perspective......followed by actually being effective once the DC gets his play calling duties back.

It might be Manny's framework but it's being executed differently. Manny never played this much zone defense and Manny had a strong track record of making adjustments when he was defensive coordinator.

Manny is the head coach and ultimately his future depends on how both sides of the line perform. I see signs of Manny's input. For example, why did we come out in the second half and play significanlty more press and less A and B gap blitzes? Did Baker adjust on his own or did Manny tell him to adjust? I don't know.

For the record, I HATE soft *** zone defense. I'd rather lose getting beat deep by playing man-to-man. The defense we saw in the first half was death by a thousand cuts and has reared its ugly head too often under Baker. Something has to be done and that ultimately falls on Manny but to blame it on his framework of defense seems misplaced.

Holding ANY team to 14 points despite many errors is usually cause for celebration.

I've been one of this staffs staunchest critics, YES there are many areas where we could improve...there ALWAYS will be, since NO team ever performs perfectly.

As for me, I'm going to enjoy this ride for as long as it lasts. There are so many more things to worry about than worrying about how or why we won a game....JUST WIN BABY

So as far as I'm concerned..... if we barely edge out the rest of our games by 3 pts or less...I'll be ecstatic and still celebrate just as much as I would if we beat them all by 30

If not for an alignment issue and a missed FG they'd have 24. You cannot possibly watch that game on Saturday and think that we look good on defense.
 
Ive said it numerous times....He don't have the corners to play consistent press man. Baker is afraid to have his corners in a 1 on 1 situation thats why there is so much soft zone. Recruit better corners
