You gonna answer for the Applewhite slip up or nah?
If Schiano interviews and signs with Temple as HC this week; we will see Fedora here as OC. (Or if Fedora doesn't like Temple's $ and staff offer, or vice versa).

If instead Fedora becomes HC at Temple this week, we will get Applewhite, who probably helped impose the silent period by agreeing to this messy outcome. And Stefan will be vindicated.

Impossible or silly (for Stefan) to admit or update anything until this fully fleshes out. Patience is a virtue.

That defense packed it in after the ridiculous Rosier interception in the 3rd. We were in the ball game. At their 40 to start the drive and Richt runs wildcat, wildcat and then Rosier throws the pick. The previous 4 drives for Wisconsin they were 48 yards on 21 plays.

I hear you, however, "the defense sucked because the offense sucked" can't continue to be the excuse moving forward.

Even if we get a top notch OC, there's still gonna be games where the defense has to hold their own.

Generally positive comments and appreciation for what he did there. Kind of like a bizarro CIS.

Yeah, that was my impression as well.
They seem to not be fond of their OC Todd Fitch, who has been with Holtz for may years, going back to UConn, ECU, USF and now LaTech. Their previous OC Tony Peterson was pretty good...he was the OC at Minnesota under Glen Mason, Rakheem Cato's coach at Marshall and was the coach who made former **** QB Jeff Driskell into a good college QB.

And there were many games where the defense won the games in spite of the offense being poor....case in point UNC.

Noticed their team kind of paralleled ours with a good defense constantly bailing out a **** poor offense.

They held their own in the first half after the first drive and to start the third quarter. They put the offense in grade field position to get back into the game. We run wildcat and Rosier throws yet another horrible pick. You cannot ask the defense to hold its own if you have a buck and a quarter in total offense and 6 first downs. And cannot complete more than one pass to a wide receiver. It was embarrassing against a 7-5 team that gave up a bunch of points to Purdue and Minnesota its previous 2 games.

This is Diaz defense. No big time coordinator was coming here to be a puppet coordinator. Idc either way. I wish we would have gotten rid of our defensive staff. You can't go 0-25 in recruiting targets no matter what

Yeah, noticed this on same of their game day threads. One of their posters even implored Diaz to take their OC as well....lol.

Re: Baker to Miami
Not a loss imo. Up till this year his defenses were not very good. This year we were better except for the first quarter, specifically the first drive of most games. I thought we were very good in the bowl game, well prepared and played fast. However, his defenses here were just average - so I think we can hire as good or even better. Holtz will probably promote from within.

Another Manny lets see

Interesting how you take 1 of the worse comments on that board and not post one of the other positive comments on the job that Baker did there. Also, there are more positive comments than negative ones. Here's one comment that goes against your posted comment.

"Our defense salvaged the past two seasons, what they were of it, 7-6 and 8-5 are hardly great seasons. But, they would have been far worse without a decent defense led by Baker. If Holtz gets the DC hire wrong, 2019 is looking bleak. We know if Smith is QB1 we are doomed to suck on offense again."

Good hire. Manny can let Baker handle the D on game day as he's been calling plays for 4 years. It's still Manny's D. Perfect fit for us.
And itll be an even better defense now that we have an offense that hold their weight
