Bain vs Stanford

I know this won’t come off popular, but when you pull that dipping move on an offensive tackle and you come up and his arm is around your neck, technically that is not holding. It looks bad and if you sell it better, you might get the call more often than not, but that’s actually not holding according to the rulebook.

About to grab his balls too?? ⏸️ ⏸️

He is single handedly destroying game plans and almost never comes off the field. Makes me wonder what the defense looks like without him in there because I constantly see plays that look like they would have had a chance had he not affected them before they got off the ground.

Hopefully we never have to find out.

It is once he breaks the plane of the tackle's hips, causing the tackle to be behind him and still holding his neck. Now, if the tackle continues to move his feet, staying beside him with his arm around his neck, 100% not holding.

Instead of a banner we need to just start a fund to pay Mario's fines so he can start calling this **** out in the press.

I believe @Lance Roffers mentioned that as long as progress is not impeded, then it’s a no call. Not sure

Correct. Both of you.

If you stay attached (meaning when they dip, rip, swim etc.) and don't disengage, you can ride them high, you can stay up top etc.

You just can't grab and impede once they're past you or disengage.

Holding is quite misunderstood because so many times it looks like an OL is holding a defender, when it was the defender who put himself there.

The engagement portion is so important. A clean swim and blow by is a hold if you weren't engaged at the time and just grab. If you're engaged in blocking and they turn sideways trying to get past, you can pretty much maul them since they put themselves there.

No pass rush play, but one of my favorite plays this past weekend was when Bain took on two lineman blockers, didn't lose any ground, and actually pushed them both into the RB's run assignment....RB tried to pop it outside but was taken down for a loss. Dude is a handful.

For his tough guy mantra he has the funniest scared **** face when things are going bad in the game :ROFLMAO:

my boys in the group chat usually send a pic weekly showing him looking scared sh*tless on the sidelines. lol

we all know it too well with ll of us being football players to college level.

randy shannon use to be our other go to cause randy always had that fake stoic look like he knew what he was doing while the place is burning down...mario literally looks terified at times

I wouldn't mind seeing a little more twitch off the edge from Bain in key moments. I think he should receive some rest at certain points so he's right as rain for the 4th quarter and looks more like this on passing downs:

bain outweighs this guy by 25 pounds atleast.

The holds on Bain are egregious & would love for Mario to get in an official’s face at some point. That said, watching college games it’s almost like officials have given up on holding calls. Can probably find one on every play, so OL has to strangle a DL, pull him to the ground & sit on him before a flag comes out.

Must be how the NBA refs treat travel now
